Sat. April 24 - Traditional Commencement

Group Information:
There will be some modifications but primarily, graduating seniors will be broken into groups by Schools. The Registrar’s Office will notify you in a separate email of your assigned group.

Group Ceremony Times: G1 at 10:00 a.m. | G2 at 12:00 p.m. | G3 at 2:00 p.m. | G4 at 4:00 p.m.

Tickets: Graduates do not need a ticket and will sit in a designated area. Each graduate will receive 4 non-transferable guest tickets. A pod of 4 seats will be randomly assigned and included with your cap and gown regalia.
  • Ticket Note: If you have any guests requiring a) hearing-impaired seating, or b) wheelchair-accessible seating, then you must reply to this email with those details. These guests are included in the 4 tickets you receive and will sit with your other guests in a designated area.
  • Ticket Note: You cannot give any tickets to another graduate (non-transferable). No one else may sit in the pod of four seats with your guests.

Cap, Gown, Regalia: Watch for another email with details on regalia pickup, but it will begin on Thursday, April 8 in the University Registrar’s Office (located in the Academic Services Building next to campus bookstore). There is no cost and we have already ordered regalia based upon the height and weight you gave us on the Intent to Graduate form.

Livestreaming: All ceremonies will be livestreamed at mvnu.tv.

On-campus livestreaming: On-campus livestream viewing will be available for students only in Foster Hall with limited seating for safety. Those planning to view at Foster Hall should park near Ariel Arena.

Those on campus wishing to use their personal electronic devices may utilize MVNU-Guest wifi.

Other Information:
  • There is no fee for graduation.
  • There will not be a Baccalaureate service this year.

Sun. April 25 - GPS Commencement

Group Ceremony Times: G1 at 1:00 p.m. | G2 at 3:00 p.m.

Group Information:

  • Group 1 will include the following undergraduate and graduate programs: General Studies, Early Childhood Education, Intervention Specialist, Professional Educator's License, Social Work, and Master of Ministry.
  • Group 2 will include the following undergraduate and graduate programs: Leadership, Public Administration, Business Administration, Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Health Care Administration, and Management.

Tickets: Graduates do not need a ticket and will sit in a designated area. Each graduate will receive four non-transferable guest tickets. A pod of four seats will be randomly assigned and mailed to the graduating student.
  • Ticket Note: If you have any guests requiring a) hearing impaired seating, or b) wheelchair accessible seating, then you must reply to the email with those details. These guests are included in the four tickets you receive and will sit with your other guests in a designated area.
  • Ticket Note: You cannot give any tickets to another graduate (non-transferable). No one else may sit in the pod of four seats with your guests. Those four seats will be shoulder to shoulder but there will be six feet for social distancing between pods.

Cap, Gown, Regalia: Students will order their cap and gown at the Jostens’s website www.jostens.com. The ordering deadline is March 18, 2021. All Regalia is mailed directly to the student’s home address. There is no additional cost as long as the order is received prior to the March 18, 2021 deadline.

The commencement ceremony will be available via live video streaming at http://mvnu.tv.

The graduates have contracted a professional photographer for photographs.

All pictures will be available online for viewing and ordering at www.seavoltsstudio.com. Once at the site, please click the link labeled "Log into our store here" at the bottom of the homepage. Pictures will be online within 72 hours and will be available until December 2021. If you have questions about photography, please contact Seavolt's Studio at 740-397-0541.

If you are graduating or have a student graduating, you may request a press release be sent about this accomplishment to the newspaper of your choice. Or, we can send it to your home and you can distribute it with a photo. Please fill out the online form completely to request this service. Traditional undergrads: You can also include your dean's list and awards convocation information at this time. If you have questions, call 740-397-9000, ext. 4347.
MVNU's Campus Safety staff will assist with parking. Please follow their direction.
