Clergy Kids Retreat

February 19-21, 2022

Where:
Kalahari Resorts Sandusky
7000 Kalahari Dr.
Sandusky, OH 44870

The 2022 Clergy Kids Retreat will be our 16th annual! Kalahari has been a tremendous host for the retreat since 2007.

Since the 1st Clergy Kids (CK) Retreat we allow large chunks of time for students to play, laugh, pray, relax, and hangout; in super-sized awesome suites; with great meals; and meaningful sessions of worship, story-telling, and small groups. The retreat is lead by adult CK's who know intimately about the blessings, challenges, and joys of the CK life. Teen's lives are transformed through the retreat and lifelong friendships are formed. It is amazing to watch God bring encouragement, healing, hope and new perspectives during our short time together.

Cost:
$115 per person for single-student families
$99 per person for multiple-student families
$25 charge will be deducted for cancellations made after date TBA

  • This year we ask that payments be made online and not by mail.
  • If using a credit card additional fees (approximately 3%) will be applied to the total amount.
  • If using an e-check there will be a $0.25 fee per transaction.

Covid-19: We are closely monitoring conditions and restrictions pertaining to the Novel Coronavirus and will comply with all CDC guidelines. This will include: masks will be worn in all group settings, we will provide hand sanitizer in the meeting room as well as in every suite, we would encourage all CK's to use the scrub in/scrub out approach (use sanitizer each and every time to enter and exit a suite or meeting room), no one with Covid related symptoms will be permitted to participate in the retreat.

What they're saying:

"I was so excited about the water park before I went, but honestly, retreat could be held in a cardboard box and it would still be awesome. CK retreat is a chance to be 100% genuine about everything without being judged or worrying about how it will affect one's family. My leaders and members of my small group helped me through some of the most difficult times in my teenage life, and God's presence has never failed to be there in abundance."

"CK retreat is awesome. It has changed my life, helped me have an awesome relationship with God, and has given me some lifelong friends."

"God used the CK retreat in a powerful way in my daughter's life soon after we had to make a very difficult move.  He blessed her with hope, healing, and great friends who understood at a time when she was starting down the path of bitterness and poor decisions.  She didn't miss one year of retreat after that! In addition to the emotional and spiritual benefit, the waterpark is unbelievable, and amount of down-time built into the weekend for fun and connecting is amazing."

"Clergy kids retreat has helped me to see that I'm not alone, and that there are other kids out there who know what I'm going through."

"Life is not always simple and especially not as a CK, and the adults and students at Clergy Kids Retreat understand that... I have been in 9 school 4 states and 13 houses...  As a PK sometimes the only proper thing to do is not talk about your problems or your family's problems, but I can be open at retreat... It is a place you can feel safe and free to be yourself."

"(My son) was nervous the first year because he didn't know what to expect, but by the end of the weekend he was saying he couldn't wait until next year to go again.  He seemed to really open up a lot...he participated in the talent contest and won a t-shirt. He wears it proudly and tells everyone where and how he got it. He is looking forward to next year as well!"

"My daughter came home just thrilled that she had the opportunity to express her true feelings about being the child of parents involved in full-time ministry.  She did not have to hold back to spare the feelings and thoughts of the average church member because she was with other kids who actually understood that clergy kids face different, and sometimes difficult, expectations of church members."
