AcademicsPresidential Scholarship

the highest recognition

Presidential Academic Scholarships are awarded as the highest recognition given for academic, extracurricular, and church/community involvement and rewards students for their commitment to the vision of Christian higher education.

This scholarship is worth up to an additional $5,000 beyond other MVNU merit scholarships for which you qualify and is renewable for up to five years based on the same maintenance criteria established for your other merit scholarships.

Students wishing to be considered for this scholarship are invited to attend the Presidential Scholarship Day on Monday, December 7. Here they will compete with other incoming first-time students by completing an interview with a panel of judges. In addition to participating in the event, a brief essay, included as part of the application, will also be used in determining the award recipients.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to state mandates surrounding COVID-19, the university has decided to hold this event in a virtual format. Please check your email the week of the event for Zoom links and final details you will need to access the event.

Eligibility Requirements
Students must meet two of the three listed requirements:
  • 3.5+ High School GPA
  • 26+ ACT score (or equivalent SAT score)
  • Ranked in the top 5% of your class

To be considered for selection, you must complete the Presidential Scholarship/Honors Application and the short essay included there (The same application is used to apply for the university's Honors Program). In addition, register for the Presidential Scholarship Day by going to the button below. The deadline for submission and registration for the event is December 1, 2020.
