Health Sciences

Are you interested in health care and want to make a difference in the world?

With a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences major, the opportunities are endless. The BSHS program at MVNU is designed for individuals who want a career in health care-related service areas, but do not, necessarily, want to provide direct hands-on patient care. Relatively few universities offer a BSHS with a general health care focus, rather than as a pre-medical track. The MVNU major provides students opportunities to combine interests in health care with a variety of other professional fields.

BSHS is an interdisciplinary major. Therefore, most classes in the core curriculum already exist in other areas: nursing, biology, psychology, business, etc. Students will select a minor(s) in a field related to their career aspirations.

  • Outstanding Facilities — BSHS majors will spend time in Hunter Hall, home of the MVNU Nursing Department, which has a variety of state-of-the-art learning laboratories.
  • Professional faculty — MVNU professors are knowledgeable and experienced, and engage with students in every capacity.

Check out the catalog for a complete list of the requirements, courses, and objectives for the Health Sciences program!

All MVNU students are invited to participate in our many other service and learning trips.

In addition to academic scholarships, affinity grants, and need-based awards, MVNU has many endowed scholarships available for students of a wide variety of backgrounds and majors.

MVNU students graduating with a BSHS are prepared to pursue careers in many areas, such as, public health, health fitness, community organizations, health insurance companies, hospitals, long-term care, and nonprofit or humanitarian organizations. They can work in the pharmaceutical industry, medical sales, as a lab manager, patient educator, and health educator. Additional career possibilities include health support, health care technical occupations, health informatics, and environmental science. Individuals pursuing these careers may find opportunities globally, as well as in the United States.

MVNU’s Health program ranked in the top 15% for Best Value by CollegeFactual.com.

The PEOPLE are what make this place so special. Thank you MVNU for the best four years of my life!
