Cheek returns as Director of Alumni Relations and Advancement

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio (January 23, 2023) — Mount Vernon Nazarene University President Henry W. Spaulding II announced the appointment of Mike Cheek as Executive Director of Alumni and Advancement, effective Jan. 19. Cheek, a 1982 graduate, returns to a position he held in the early 2000s.

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio (January 9, 2023) — Mount Vernon Nazarene University, Kenyon College and the Knox County community will come together to celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The 20th annual celebration breakfast will take place on Monday, Jan. 16, beginning at 9 a.m., in Peirce Hall on the Kenyon College campus. The in-person event is free and open to the public.

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio (December 13, 2022) — Through Mount Vernon Nazarene University’s new Summer Program for Undergraduate Research (SPUR) program, 12 MVNU students conducted eight weeks of faculty-mentored scientific research during the summer of 2022. This was the first year for the program.

Two faculty members were honored — Professor Joy Strickland, Assistant Vice President for Student Success and Retention; and Dr. Jon Bossley, Associate Professor of Biology.

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio (November 17, 2022) — Mount Vernon Nazarene University will present the 54th annual performance of G. F. Handel’s "Messiah" on Sunday, Dec. 4, at 7 p.m., in the R.R. Hodges Chapel/Auditorium on the MVNU campus. Tickets are $5 per person, or $20 per family, and can be purchased at the door or in advance at www.mvnu.edu/music.
