MVNU instrumental ensembles to perform March 26

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio — The MVNU instrumental ensembles will present a spring concert on Tuesday, March 26, at 7:30 p.m., in the R.R. Hodges Chapel/Auditorium. The concert will feature the Chamber Winds, Flute Choir, Jazz Band and Symphonic Wind Ensemble. The community is invited to attend this free event.

MVNU invites community to hear stories of Tragedy into Triumph

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio — Tragedy is “an event causing great suffering, destruction and distress.” Triumph is “joy or satisfaction resulting from a success or victory.” It is in the space between tragedy and triumph where many find their path and the voice to tell their story. Three such stories will come to life as Mount Vernon Nazarene University hosts Tragedy into Triumph, March 18-20.

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio — Mount Vernon Nazarene University, in partnership with Kenyon College and the Knox County community, will present the 16th annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration Breakfast on Monday, Jan. 21, from 9-11 a.m., in Peirce Hall, Thomas Hall on the Kenyon College campus. With the theme “Sisters in the Struggle: Pioneers of the Civil Rights Movement,” the breakfast and program will feature speaker Dr. Leslie Harris, Professor of History, Northwestern University.

Gregory Spaid’s 'Reading Trees' photographic exhibit scheduled for January

MOUNT VERNON, OHIO — Mount Vernon Nazarene University’s Schnormeier Gallery is proud to present Gregory Spaid’s photographic exhibit, titled “Reading Trees.” This exhibit will be on display in the gallery from Jan. 11 to Feb. 22, 2019. He will be presenting an artist talk on Jan. 18, at 5 p.m., and the reception will follow from 6-8p.m.
