Metcalfe Co-Authors Chapter in 'Succession Planning: Promoting Organizational Sustainability'

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio — Dr. Sharon Metcalfe, Professor of Education, Associate Dean for Education Programs, and Director of Teacher Education at Mount Vernon Nazarene University,   has co-authored a chapter (Chapter 15 – Case Studies in Succession Planning for K12 Districts) in the book, “Succession Planning: Promoting Organizational Sustainability,” 2018, edited by P. A. Gordon and J. A. Overbey. Palgrave Macmillan publishers.

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio — Justin Sorensen, assistant professor of art at MVNU, was recently recognized for his previous exhibition works. From September to December of 2017, his video work “The Foolish Builder” was a part of the exhibition “Since Then” at the Kamloops Art Gallery in Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada, which looked at “what it means to endure from a historical and contemporary point of view.”

Professor Margaret Allotey-Pappoe Recognized for Work

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio — Margaret Allotey-Pappoe, associate professor of graphic design and chair of the art and design department at MVNU, was recently recognized for her achievements and work. Allotey-Pappoe has had work exhibited at Foster Gallery for Christianity and the Fine Arts at First United Methodist Church in Peoria, Ill., with another Ghanaian artist, Nana Ekow Maison. The exhibit titled “Reflections of Nana Ekow Maison and Margaret Allotey-Pappoe” ran from July through September 2017 and in which Allotey-Pappoe was featured in The Peoria Journal Star. 

MVNU’s Donnelly ‘Still Chasing Faroe’

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio — Mount Vernon Nazarene University art professor John Donnelly was recently accepted into the OH+5, 2018 Ohio Border 11th Biennial Exhibition juried competition consisting of artists from six states. Donnelly’s artwork “Still Chasing Faroe,” an installation of 300 paintings and drawings, is on display until March 17.
