“MVNU has definitely changed my perspective. I have gone from a person who believes solely in following others to a person who has created opportunities to lead. MVNU allows that to happen. MVNU gives every student the ability to grow in faith and self-confidence, and I have done both.”

“I chose MVNU because of campus life and because of the spiritual life this campus breathes into their students. I became a student after transferring in from a bigger college and after a semester there I realized that my relationship with God was not growing.”

Spiritual Journey

“Coming up my teenage years in the church I believed I had no other way to grow and just was going to coast with my relationship with God. An example of my journey began to spark up again with a chapel service where it was nothing but worship music. I felt so overwhelmed during the entire service that I begin to weep. I just remember listening not to the music but to the voice of God telling me, 'There's always more.' Since then I have allowed myself to become more involved with my race to God. I begin no longer feeling satisfied with just walking with him but realizing God is someone I needed to chase.”

Campus involvement & beyond

“Since arriving on campus, I have had the pleasure of being a part of Justice Project, CoSMO groups, the Black Student Union, and Sustainability Club. I am also a mentor and Small Group Leader. ... Over winter break I got to work a weekend with the Greater Flint Organization and had the chance to distribute water to people affected by the water crisis. I also had the opportunity to work with multiple groups from my hometown as we were recently affected by a tornado.”
