Things to Bring

  • Flashlight
  • Bedding (for twin extra-long size bed)
  • Curtains on a tension rod (window measurements are approximately 32 1/2" x 45")
  • Personal items (toothpaste, soap, etc.)
  • Towels & wash cloths
  • Cleaning Supplies
  • Lamp (Not halogen or 5-colored)
  • Wall hangings, decorations, etc.
  • Sticki-tac (for hanging posters and pictures)
  • Carpet (Check with RD to see if your room is already carpeted)
  • School supplies (pens, pencils, etc.)
  • Entertainment items (TV, iPod, PS3 etc.)
  • Alarm Clock (and batteries for backup)
  • Shower shoes for showers
  • Iron, ironing board (with automatic shutoff)
  • Extra storage containers
  • Books and magazines
  • Umbrella
  • Trash can and trash bags
  • Fan
  • Laundry detergent
  • Refrigerator (optional, 2.9 cubic feet maximum)
  • Bicycle

Note: Students tell us that it is best not to bring everything when you first move on to campus. Since you only need one of certain items (phone, ironing board, curtains, trash can, etc...), you should arrange with your roommate who should bring what items. After you see how much room is available after you and your roommate settle in, then you can decide what else you need to bring back after fall semester break.
