WNZR’s Lifeline 2022 coming soon
MOUNT VERNON, Ohio (March 4, 2022) — WNZR 90.9 FM, a broadcast ministry of Mount Vernon Nazarene University, is preparing for Lifeline 2022. This annual fundraising effort, March 23-28, is an opportunity for listeners to pledge their support to WNZR.
This year’s goal is $65,000, and the theme is You Keep Hope Alive, based on the song from Mandisa and Jon Reddick. The theme verse for Lifeline 2022 is Romans 15:13 – “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.” This verse expresses how WNZR wants to keep its ministry focused on living a life of hope.
“This theme has come to life for the WNZR staff as we have walked through two years with a pandemic,” said Marcy Rinehart, WNZR Station Manager and co-host of The Morning Thing. “At WNZR, we want to use the music we play and the programs that we air to build up families. As a group, we are also renewing our commitment to keep hope alive each day. We want to be a place of hope and encouragement, where listeners can find joy, peace, and direction for their lives.”
“We are so thankful for those that have supported WNZR throughout the years,” said Joe Rinehart, MVNU’s Director of Broadcasting and co-host of WNZR’s Afternoon Drive. “Your support helps us stay focused on what we’re all about — broadcasting an uplifting message that encourages listeners and families on a daily basis. I believe we are in the business of hope! Your partnership is also an investment in our students to develop their communication skills and discover purpose in their lives.”
“You Keep Hope Alive to me means that the most glorious thing can happen if you never give up,” says Ben Alexander, junior Communication and Media Major from Marysville, Ohio. “God can change your life in an instant. That is what keeps me going and keeps me fighting all the battles I face every day.”
“You Keep Hope Alive is about fixing our eyes on things above, even when we are discouraged by what we see in this world,” sophomore Mike Basko, Communication and Media Major from Lynchburg, Virginia, shared. “Even when things are crashing down around us, we have a peace that transcends all understanding and that allows us to keep our hope in Jesus. As a result, we can live our lives with confidence, because we know that we have hope stored up in Heaven.”
