Schnormeier Gallery Presents ‘The Heart of the Grizzly’

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio — Schnormeier Gallery, 221 S. Main St., is privileged to host “The Heart of the Grizzly, a photovoices research project” conducted by the Social Work Department at MVNU in conjunction with New Directions Domestic Abuse Shelter and Rape Crisis Center of Knox County from Oct. 1-31.

Focusing on people who have experienced intimate partner violence or sexual assault, this exhibit is about revealing their stories of recovery through the lens of photography. Schnormeier Gallery is pleased to facilitate this exhibit and subsequent dialogue about abuse and survivorship.

There will be a reception for the artists and organization on Friday, Oct. 5, from 6-9 p.m., that is free and open to the public. New Directions will also be hosting free public events throughout the month of October to help raise awareness about this issue. This exhibit and all gallery events are free and open to the public.
