Professor Justin Sorensen Recognized

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio — Justin Sorensen, assistant professor of art at MVNU, was recently recognized for his previous exhibition works. From September to December of 2017, his video work “The Foolish Builder” was a part of the exhibition “Since Then” at the Kamloops Art Gallery in Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada, which looked at “what it means to endure from a historical and contemporary point of view.”

Sorensen has also been featured in the 2018 OH+5, 2018 Ohio Border 11th Biennial Exhibition at The Dairy Barn Arts Center in Athens, Ohio.

Sorensen also had an essay “Four Parts Water” published by The Digital Press at the University of North Dakota in fall 2017. His essay was featured in the book “Codex,” organized by Micah Bloom, a project that “examines the fate of books in the aftermath of the 2011 Minot flood.” Sorensen’s essay is a literary and theological meditation on this event.

MVNU is grateful for Sorensen’s contributions to the university and congratulates him on his many successes.
