MVNU Welcomes Alumni Back to Campus for 2017 Homecoming Celebration

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio — Mount Vernon Nazarene University will welcome alumni and their families back to campus for a weekend of reuniting and reminiscing. This annual celebration will begin Friday, Nov. 10, 2017, and continue through Saturday evening. Highlights will include an Alumni Celebration, Reunion Brunches, Class Gatherings, and the annual MVNU Knox Needs 5K Run/Walk and Cycling Ride.

The weekend’s activities will begin with the President’s Prayer Breakfast, hosted by MVNU President Henry W. Spaulding II, Ph.D. The Homecoming Chapel Service in the R.R. Hodges Chapel Auditorium will follow at 10:20 a.m. and will feature an alumni band and a display of our university’s rich history. That evening, beginning with the Lady Cougars’ basketball game, alumni and friends are invited to attend the Alumni Celebration. The entire event will last from 5-10 p.m. where alumni and their families can enjoy a photo booth, finger foods, and unforgettable time with friends.

The MVNU Alumni Relations department will induct new members to the Wall of Fame in Ariel Arena during Friday night’s basketball game. Current faculty and staff who are existing Wall of Fame honorees will be also recognized during the basketball games.

The annual MVNU Knox Needs 5K Run/Walk and Cycling Ride will begin Saturday, Nov. 11, at 10 a.m. outside the R.R. Hodges Chapel Auditorium. Reunion Brunches will be held in the Dining Commons from 9-10:30 a.m., with Class Gatherings to follow from 10:30-11:30 a.m., in Hyson Campus Center. The weekend will also feature multiple sporting events, academic presentations, a music concert, a theatre performance, and a number of activities for children.
