MVNU honoring graduates with in-person commencement
MOUNT VERNON, Ohio — Mount Vernon Nazarene University will hold special in-person commencement exercises for 2021 graduates with an emphasis on COVID-19 safety precautions.
Four ceremonies will be held on Saturday, April 24, to honor the traditional graduates. Times and groupings are:
•10 a.m., School of Arts and Humanities and Education majors;
•Noon, Jetter School of Professional Studies;
•2 p.m., School of Natural and Social Sciences; and
•4 p.m., School of Nursing and Health Sciences and School of Christian Ministry.
Note: Groupings of graduates is not an exact match to school/major. Those interested in watching a specific graduate should confirm the time with the graduate.
Graduates of the School of Graduate and Professional Studies programs will be recognized during two ceremonies on Sunday, April 25. Times and groupings are:
•1 p.m., General Studies, Early Childhood Education, Intervention Specialist, Professional Educator’s License, Social Work, and Master of Ministry; and
•3 p.m., Leadership, Public Administration, Business Administration, Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Health Care Administration, and Management.
Graduates will be provided four tickets with assigned seating in order to provide adequate spacing between families. In addition, masks will be required, as well as other virus safety protocols.
All ceremonies will be livestreamed at mvnu.tv.
On-campus livestream viewing for graduates only will be available in Foster Hall with limited seating for safety. Those planning to view at Foster Hall should park near Ariel Arena to maintain open parking near the Chapel.
Those on campus wishing to use their personal electronic devices to view livestream may utilize MVNU-Guest Wi-Fi.
