Money Magazine Ranks MVNU Fourth Best College for Merit Scholarships
MOUNT VERNON, Ohio — Mount Vernon Nazarene University was recently ranked fourth in the nation by Money Magazine for awarding large merit scholarships. Money Magazine ranked 46 different colleges and universities based on graduation rates, the percentage of undergraduate students who receive merit scholarships, and how much of the overall cost of attendance is covered by these scholarships. Merit scholarships are awarded based on a student’s academic accomplishments.
“It is such an honor for Mount Vernon Nazarene University to be ranked number four in the nation of the Best Colleges for Getting Big Merit Aid,” said James Smith, Vice President for Enrollment Management and Marketing.
“It is especially significant for us to be the highest ranked school in Ohio and to be tied for the highest ranking among liberal arts colleges and schools that belong to the CCCU.”
“We have gone to great lengths to ensure that our students receive a quality education that is affordable. MVNU has historically experienced strong retention and graduation rates, and in the past five years we have intentionally invested in our Center for Student Success to push those even higher,” said Smith.
“We have paired this with increased merit aid to reward students for their efforts and help students across all income levels enjoy the high-quality, faith-based education that MVNU has to offer. We anticipate that this honor will help draw attention to the value of a MVNU education and will encourage students that a quality, faith-based liberal arts education can be affordable.”
