Floored: An exhibition of handcrafted rugs
MOUNT VERNON, Ohio — Mount Vernon Nazarene University’s Schnormeier Gallery is proud to present Floored: An exhibition of handcrafted rugs. This exhibit will be on display in the gallery from July 5 to Aug. 9. The exhibition will open on Friday, July 5 at 1 p.m., with a First Friday reception at the Schnormeier Gallery from 6-9 p.m.
Floored is an exhibition of handcrafted rugs that explores the techniques of rug making in all of its varied forms. The hooked, knotted, woven, and deconstructed rugs show the potential of this art form to transcend the everyday household rug. This exhibition pushes the traditional boundaries of rug making through color, form, materials, pattern and subject matter.
The Schnormeier Gallery is located at 221 S. Main St., Mount Vernon, on the first floor of MVNU’s Buchwald Center. It is open Monday through Friday, from 1-5 p.m. For more information, contact the Schnormeier gallery at firstname.lastname@example.org.
