Five MVNU students inducted into Alpha Chi National Honor Society
MOUNT VERNON, Ohio (April 29, 2022) — Mount Vernon Nazarene University proudly inducted five students into the Alpha Chi National Honor Society for the 2021-22 academic year. The inductees earned this recognition for their outstanding scholarly achievements and exemplary character. Students are eligible if they are full-time, junior or senior status, and have a grade point average that is 3.85 or higher.
The following students, all juniors, received this honor: Hailey Clayborn, Nursing major; Benjamin Leskey, Computer Science major; Emily Ryan, Nursing major; Jenson Thompson, Finance major; and Hunter Winey, Christian Ministry/Intercultural Studies major.
“Out of all eligible students, faculty members vote on their choices for induction,” said Assistant Professor of Social Work Jennifer Jacobsen. “Students who received the most votes stood out to faculty members not only for their work ethic and academic achievements, but also for their high moral character and embodiment of MVNU’s mission. MVNU is proud to induct these fine scholars into the Ohio Delta chapter of the Alpha Chi National Honor Society.”
The Alpha Chi National Honor Society is a member of the Association of College Honor Societies, a group of 67 societies meeting rigorous standards regarding student membership and governance. Alpha Chi is one of two major ACHS members based on the scholarly achievement of juniors and seniors, the other being Phi Kappa Phi.
