Community invited to MVNU for Goliards Chamber Ensemble Concert

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio — Mount Vernon Nazarene University’s Goliards Chamber Ensemble will present its fall concert on Thursday, Nov. 21, at 8 p.m., in Thorne Performance Hall in the R.R. Hodges Chapel and Fine Arts Center. The concert is free and the community is invited and encouraged to attend.

Goliards, an a cappella chamber choir, consists of 20 auditioned members under the direction of Mrs. Elizabeth Barrett. This concert will showcase a variety of unaccompanied selections, some in Latin texts, covering early music to current repertoire. The assortment of songs will also include a few selections for the upcoming Advent season.

Goliards is one of three choral ensembles at MVNU. They perform their own fall and spring concerts and join with other ensembles in various events such as the annual Homecoming concert and the Christmas Festival. Members represent a variety of academic majors and denominational backgrounds.

For more information on this or other musical events, please visit or contact Tressa Daley at 740-397-9000, ext. 3000.
