MVNU’s Social Work Program Ranks Among ‘Best of the Best’
MOUNT VERNON, Ohio — Mount Vernon Nazarene University’s Social Work program ranks among the “best of the best” nationally, regionally and within Ohio according to College Factual.
MVNU’s Social Work department is ranked in the top 1 percent for Best Value, top 5 percent for Most Focused, and top 15 percent for Most Popular.
“It’s not surprising that we’re ranked so high,” said Tracy Waal, Director of Admissions at MVNU. “Our social work students experience field observation their freshman year and have many opportunities for hands-on experience in rural, urban, and international settings throughout their time at MVNU. To find all three in one program is special. In addition, our students graduate with 70 more hours of field experience than is required by most other social work programs.”
Not only do social work students begin field work and gain hands-on experience starting their first semester at MVNU, students are also taught how to maintain professionalism to successfully serve their clients while incorporating God’s love and mercy into their work.
Students are also guided by MVNU’s social work faculty including licensed social workers who are actively engaged professionally, in direct practice, as volunteers, and in major field research.
“The social work program is excited to be nationally ranked as the best value by College Factual for 2018,” said Trudy Singletary, Assistant Professor of Social Work at MVNU. “College Factual, through a data driven ranking system, identifies schools that offer the best quality education for the most cost effective price. Our faculty strive to provide the most current practice driven curriculum in an experiential learning environment and are thrilled to have our work recognized!”
