Mount Vernon Nazarene University to Launch Men’s Lacrosse
MOUNT VERNON, Ohio – The Mount Vernon Nazarene University Athletic Department is excited to announce the launch of men’s lacrosse as the latest sport offering at MVNU. The program will begin as a club sport in the fall of 2018 with plans to move to varsity status in 2019-20, becoming MVNU’s 19th varsity program.
The addition of men’s lacrosse is one of many anticipated new offerings to come over the next four years as MVNU looks to grow enrollment through the addition of new athletic teams, creating new opportunities for prospective students.
“We recognize that high school student-athletes are looking for a place to continue to grow both academically and athletically,” said Hannah Miller, MVNU Coordinator of Club and Junior Varsity Sports.
“We believe MVNU is a great place to do both of those things. The addition of men’s lacrosse makes MVNU an option for a new group of students looking to be challenged in the classroom, in their character development, and on the field of competition.”
The search is underway for a head coach to lead the new program. Qualified candidates can view a complete job description and submit application materials at mvnu.edu/jobs.
Student-athletes interested in playing men’s lacrosse can fill out a recruit information form at mvnucougars.com.
