MVNU accepting all CCU credits; matching fall 2019 costs

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio — Mount Vernon Nazarene University has announced it will match Fall 2019 out-of-pocket costs and a $1,000 grant to Cincinnati Christian University students who transfer to MVNU for Spring 2020. This offer comes days after CCU announced it will close at the end of fall semester.

MVNU has highest traditional undergrad enrollment since 2008

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio — Mount Vernon Nazarene University is realizing continued growth of traditional undergraduate student enrollment for the sixth year in a row. Enrollment climbed over 1,400 in 2018, and continued to increase to 1,414 for Fall 2019. This is the highest traditional undergrad enrollment at MVNU since 2008.

Turf being installed at Soccer and Lacrosse Stadium

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio — The artificial turf for the Soccer and Lacrosse Stadium is being installed as part of Phase 1 of the complex. Workers are taking advantage of the sunny fall day to finish placing the turf along the sidelines. Additional work will include sewing the pieces together, adding field markings among other finishing touches.

South Central Ohio District Church of The Nazarene creates endowed scholarship at MVNU

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio — The South Central Ohio Student Endowed Scholarship at Mount Vernon Nazarene University has been established by a $50,000 donation from the South Central Ohio District Church of the Nazarene. Undergraduate students from the South Central Ohio District who are enrolled in a traditional academic program will be eligible to apply for the scholarship.

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio — Multiple conflicts in the Democratic Republic of the Congo have created a humanitarian crisis in the country resulting in the displacement of over 4.5 million Congolese and refugees from other countries. Mount Vernon Nazarene University is inviting the public to listen as current students from the Congo tell their stories and bring awareness to the violence happening in their homeland. The Justice Talk will take place Thursday, Dec. 5, at 7:30 p.m., in Foster Hall in Ariel Arena.

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio — Vrable Healthcare Companies, a collection of Ohio-based senior care facilities, has begun a new educational partnership with Mount Vernon Nazarene University. The company's associates are now eligible for a tuition discount towards MVNU's online programs. Vrable Healthcare also offers a tuition reimbursement program in support of its associates furthering their education.

MOUNT VERNON — Five years after offering the first class in its undergraduate engineering program, Mount Vernon Nazarene University has been accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET).
