Online Master of Science in Management

Mount Vernon Nazarene University’s online Master of Science in Management (MSM) degree program is intentionally designed for working adults—it’s convenient, affordable, and flexible. The program prepares ambitious students for management, executive, and leadership-oriented roles in organizations in virtually any sector.

The Master of Science in Management is a highly focused, fast-paced program that provides students with skills in the functional areas of business, along with essential executive and leadership knowledge. This 10-course, 30 credit hour program is specifically designed for individuals who are current or aspiring leaders in their organization. MSM students learn how to communicate effectively, lead organizational change, maximize human resources, and compete in the global market.

The MSM degree also serves as a more practical alternative to an MBA degree, placing greater emphasis on budgeting and forecasting while allowing students to complete one of the MBA’s specialized concentrations.

HUMAN AND SOCIAL SERVICES LEADERSHIP

Students who envision themselves leading a non-profit, government, or social services program may benefit from this concentration, which blends the MSM’s business concepts with a greater understanding of grant writing, secondary trauma, program planning and development, evaluation, and interdisciplinary relationships.

ORGANIZATIONAL MANAGEMENT

Touching on operations, human resources, and change management, the courses composing this concentration help students become stronger, direction-oriented leaders of nonprofits, government agencies, and businesses.

HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT

Courses covering training, development, compensation, benefits, and leadership prepare students for an executive or management role in a human resources department.

ACCOUNTING

Complement your leadership and management skills with a greater focus on higher-level accounting concepts.

BUSINESS DATA ANALYTICS

As Big Data influences nearly all organizational aspects, learn to analyze and manage this information and apply it from the top down.

FINANCE

Preparing students for a top-level finance role, this concentration explores markets, financial institutions, investment strategies, and financial planning in greater detail.

LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT

Learn to lead a supply chain in house or from a consulting role. Concentration courses approach related business processes and offer additional insight into marketing, finance, accounting, and human resources.

MARKETING

Combining traditional business and marketing skills, this concentration equips students with the knowledge to lead campaigns and direct growth efforts as a consultant, entrepreneur, or department manager.

MINISTRY LEADERSHIP

Blending MVNU’s faith-based outlook with the MSM’s leadership and management principles, this concentration prepares students to lead a church or parachurch organization.

Once enrolled in our School of Graduate and Professional Studies, your course-by-course tuition does not increase—even if the university’s charges for tuition are raised. Payment is made on a course-by-course basis, and advisors are always available to help walk students through the process.

FINANCIAL AID

Students should complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The application is available online. MVNU’s school code is 007085. Filling out the FAFSA is an important step in the financial aid process and is required for any financial aid to be awarded.
