GPS Computer Requirements

This page specifies the type of computer, hardware, software and internet requirements necessary to be successful as an MVNU GPS student.

Computer Requirements:

Most laptop computers manufactured within the last three years will meet the minimum requirements for completion of coursework. Candidates can purchase a new laptop at reasonable prices from a variety of both onsite and online retailers, including Best Buy, Walmart, Staples, and Newegg.com. If candidates need to utilize financial aid monies to assist with purchasing a suitable laptop, they should note that refund checks are typically not distributed for at least six weeks after the program has started.

Internet Requirements:

Candidates should have regular, reliable access to the internet in order to complete course requirements. A minimum of a high-speed broadband connection is recommended (DSL, Cable, Satellite, or Wireless).

Intel I3 Processor or Higher (I5 or higher recommended)
Minimum 4GB of RAM (8GB is recommended)
Minimum 60GB Hard Drive
Color Monitor Capable of at least 800x600 resolution
Optical Disk Drive (recommended)
USB Port 3.0
Wireless (802.11G)
Webcam (built-In recommended)

OS X (Mojave)
Web Browser: Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox
Intel Dual-Core I5 Processor or higher

Software Requirements:

PC: Microsoft Office 365-available with email (as an MVNU student you have full access to Microsoft Office 365)
Mac: Microsoft Office 365-available with email (as an MVNU student you have full access to Microsoft Office 365)
Adobe Acrobat Reader 8.0 or higher (check for a free download of the latest version)
Anti-Virus/Malware Protection: (Malwarebytes, Bit Defender, ESET,) (recommended)

MVNU is not responsible for the loss of data. Candidates are required to back-up their data via USB Thumb drive or with other means.
