The School of Christian Ministry of Mount Vernon Nazarene University is excited to offer another learning opportunity for pastors and leaders on our field. On Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2023, we are excited to host Dr. Andrew Root.

Dr. Root is the Carrie Olson Baalson Professor of Youth and Family Ministry at Luther Seminary. He is most recently the author of the four volume Ministry in a Secular Age series (Churches and the Crisis of Decline, The Congregation in a Secular Age, The Pastor in a Secular Age, and Faith Formation in a Secular Age). We invite you to join us for a day of learning and discussion alongside our ministry students as he shares with us what it means to have a hopeful ecclesiology in a secular age.

The event will be held on the campus of MVNU, in Ariel Arena’s Foster Hall, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Registration cost is $49, with a continental breakfast and lunch provided. All pastors and leaders on the MVNU field are invited, and we encourage bringing a board member as well. Lifelong learning credit will be offered.

Deadline to register is Jan. 31, 2023.
