FINANCIAL OPTIONS

MVNU allows qualified Ohio students in grades 7-12 to take courses for FREE when funded through the state’s College Credit Plus program. Students who are ineligible or partially eligible for program funding can take courses at a deeply discounted rate using MVNU’s Family Pay option.

Public school students are awarded up to 30 credit hours per academic year, beginning with the summer term. Each course taken at the high school level reduces the number of available college credits by three.

Public school students must inform the high school of intent to participate in the College Credit Plus program by April 1 each year. Information and intent forms are obtained from the high school.

Nonpublic and homeschool students must complete an online College Credit Plus funding application each year. The number of credit hours awarded to nonpublic and homeschool students will vary based on the allocation of funds in the Ohio budget and the total number of applications received.

Parents of nonpublic and homeschool students are required to establish an OH|ID account before the family can apply for funding (https://ohid.ohio.gov). The OH|ID account can be established at any time, and has replaced the SAFE Portal to access funding applications and awards.

In general, the funding application is available mid-February and is due no later than April 1. Nonpublic school students, please visit this Ohio Department of Education webpage for details, exact dates, and links. Homeschool students, please visit this Ohio Department of Education webpage for details, exact dates, and links. Submitting an application for funding does not guarantee any credits will be awarded.

Once awarded, please provide a copy of the funding award notification letter to our office. The letter can be downloaded from the OH|ID portal and emailed to dualenrollment@mvnu.edu.

MVNU’s Family Pay program allows students who are ineligible or partially eligible for Ohio’s College Credit Plus program to take dual enrollment courses at a deeply discounted rate.
