Career Support and Opportunities to Engage Students

If your employer has job or internship postings that can be shared with MVNU students, please direct them to our Employer page. This page has instructions for registering and posting positions on Handshake. For more information, contact Career Development. You can also forward job postings directly to the same email address.

Recent graduates receive full support from the Career Development Center for 24 months following their graduation. After the 24-month period, alumni are also afforded up to three career advising appointments per year. For more information, contact Career Development. The following job search resources are also offered to all MVNU alumni on a permanent/unlimited basis.

The careers that fit you best are those that utilize your strongest preferences, interests and personal drive. Career Development offers fee-based personality and interest assessments that help you identify potential career options. This process will help you identify potential career paths within your field.

Occupational Outlook Handbook is a great resource, with the most extensive entries on occupations from the U.S. Department of Labor.

Vocational Bios provides an up-close and personal look at numerous occupations, to give you a real sense of what a career might be like. To access Vocational Biographies, use the login information below.

Writing Your Document

Professional-level job candidates should utilize accepted formats and approaches for creating effective resumes and cover letters. For guidance on updating and enhancing your resume, review the advanced sections found in the Resume and Cover Letter Writing Guide.

Handshake

Handshake is our centralized system for job and internship postings for students and alumni. Handshake houses hundreds of postings by employers around Central Ohio and beyond. These employers are specifically seeking students and graduates for their openings.
