WNZR Power Increase Update

So much is happening at WNZR. God is answering prayer! Many of you have seen Big Blue – our remote broadcast vehicle. Big Blue is an answer to 10 years of prayer and 3 years of fundraising. Thank you for supporting our station and our ministry.

As you know, the next step for WNZR is a power increase, which is underway. WNZR received permission from the FCC (Federal Communications Commission) to take our signal power from 130 watts to 1,300 (13-hundred) watts. We have a construction permit open until May 2011 to complete this process.

A second floor has been built at our tower site and the electrical wiring and components, including a new generator, have been installed and tested. The new equipment has been arriving in phases, with the transmitter scheduled to arrive the week of January 11.

The new antenna, which will placed on the broadcast tower, is being configured and should arrive sometime in February. It will be omni-directional, which will give a clearer and stronger signal to all types of radios. Right now, WNZR’s antenna is vertical, so it works best with car radios. We are excited about this change because many of you have told us that you can pick up WNZR in your driveway, but not inside your home.

The new equipment will cost around $48,000 dollars...
The labor for this project will cost around $12,000 dollars...
So the total cost of this power increase project is over $60,000.

Thank YOU for pledging YOUR support to WNZR. Our Lifeline 2009 pledge total is now over $67,000! Praise the Lord!

We ask that you consider completing your pledge payment as soon as possible- those payments will help us pay off the balance of the power increase project, and prevent interest payments.

We've placed two WNZR coverage maps below. Take a minute and look at the difference this power increase will have on WNZR’s reach. This power increase will allow us to reach more families with a message of hope, redemption and grace.

We ask that you keep this project and our station in your prayers. We are in the final stages, but construction is still happening. A change in equipment and a stronger signal will mean nothing if we aren’t praying for God to reach new people through our broadcast.

Thank you for partnering with WNZR – where the more you listen, the more you hear!
