New Student Orientation, a two-day event, is essential and required for all new freshmen, transfer, and full-time College Credit Plus students who are enrolling for fall 2026.

- Current Student Connections (Library) — Grab a drink at Happy Bean in the library and enjoy some intentional conversations with our current MVNU students.
- Engagement Fair (Ariel Arena) — A chance to interact with on-campus and off-campus partners, resources, and organizations that can help make your MVNU experience better. Hear from Student Life, Athletics, on-campus clubs, local banks, hotels, and more.
- Individual Academic Advising Meetings (Various Locations) — Set up an individual meeting with an advisor in your academic division to talk about your class schedule in detail. Link coming.
- Financial Aid Meetings (Founders Hall) — Feel free to schedule an appointment anytime at NSO, but this is a great time to meet with your financial aid advisor.
- Campus Walking Tour (Admissions Welcome Center | 1-1:45 p.m.) — Never seen the whole campus before? Need a refresher? Take a short 45-minute walking tour with one of our student tour guides.
- President's Q&A (Foster Hall | 1-2 p.m.) — Key leaders from across campus will be available for an informal period of Q&A.
- Shop for New MVNU Gear (Cougar Corner Bookstore) — Visit our campus bookstore for MVNU apparel and more.
Housing Information
Student Housing
New Student Orientation is an overnight event on June 11 and 12. All incoming students will be provided housing on campus in dorms and apartments. When possible, incoming freshmen will be placed in their assigned dorm room with their assigned roommate.
Guest Housing
Parents/guardians are welcome to stay on MVNU's campus in upperclassmen townhome apartments or secure their own off-campus housing. There are many local lodging options in the Mount Vernon community. Some may offer an MVNU discount (please see our Local Lodging website for more details).
Each on-campus townhome has two floors, with private bedroom/bathroom spaces for families and a shared common living area. Every bedroom contains 2 twin beds and all bed linens, pillows, and towels will be provided.

Upstairs: two bedrooms and one shared bathroom (4 people)
Downstairs: one bedroom with a private en suite bathroom (2 people)
