Wordsmith's Writers Club


The purpose of The Wordsmiths is to 1) Provide an open forum for discussion of writings, 2) think christianly about literature, 3) be relevant Christians in a secular society, 4) use creativity as an expression of a unique quality that God has given humans 5) provide a safe and constructive environment for developing writing skills and expression of ideas 6) be open minded to different viewpoints; or new and creative expressions, as well as being sensitive to the views of others, 7) To provide a community atmosphere where people of like minds (or not) can gather and feel close to one another, for the purpose of fellowship and friendship.
Basic Information:
We run from anywhere between 5-15 in attendance.
We discuss poetry, literature, and how each relates to the world around us.
We read our own creations and try to draw creative analyses of ourselves through the readings.
We attempt to interpret and apply literature and poetry to our spiritual lives.
Membership Requirements:
A certain degree of openmindedness to the discussion topics.
A love of poetry and literature.
An interest in discussing those things.
Anyone who meets these requirements is welcome.
Activities:
We meet every other week.
We host poetry readings (March 9th is the first of these)
We will be attending a play in Columbus within the next few months.
