Delta Mu Delta is the National Honor Society in Business Administration.

DMD was founded as a national organization in 1913 when five professors in the School of Commerce, Finance and Accounts at New York University, who believed that recognition should be given to outstanding students of business administration subjects, founded the first chapter. Delta Mu Delta was incorporated in 1952, and in 1963 was admitted to membership in the Association of College Honor Societies (ACHS). In 1992, the Society established an affiliation with ACBSP whereby future chapter establishement occurs only at colleges and universityies with business programs accredited by the ACBSP at the baccalaureate/graduate level.

The purposes of Delta Mu Delta are to promote higher scholarship training for business and to recognize and reward scholastic attainment in business subjects.

Delta Mu Delta membership provides recognition for a lifetime. As the highest national recognition a business student can earn, it is appropriate to include Delta Mu Delta membership on one's resume.

The motto of DMD is: "Through Knowledge, Power"

In order to be inducted to MVNU's chapter of Delta Mu Delta, the following requirements must be met:

Junior or Senior
Business Division major
Cumulative GPA of 3.65 or above
In upper 20% of class
Be an MVNU student for 1 year or more

MVNU also has an associate chapter, Gamma Mu. Following are the requirements for associate members:

Sophomores
Cumulative GPA of 3.65 or above
Induction is based on grades at the end of J-term and the induction banquet for this year will be May 2, 2004.
