Throughout the course of the 2011-2012 season, MVNU junior guard Melissa Eickholt will write a weekly blog about what is happening with the team.

"Starting the Player Introductions" (posted on November 15, 2011)

We are currently 3-0 and looking to make it 4-0 against Cincinnati Clermont tonight. As the season goes on, the team spends more and more time with one another and develops relationships and memories together. But, we might not know everything about each teammate. Here's a closer look at three of the players on the team: Hannah, Elizabeth and Ashley.

Hannah Keller Elizabeth Stoll Ashley Jackson

Hannah Keller - Hannah went to Sissonville High School in West Virginia. She is a business management major and she loves Mount Vernon because of the small class sizes and the nice professors. Her favorite color is blue and her favorite sports team is the West Virginia Mountaineers. Hannah always brings hard work and effort to every single practice and game. She can drain the three from downtown and is very consistent in doing so. Nobody beats her up more than herself because she expects nothing but the best from herself. The whole team loves having Hannah around. She is a quiet girl, but every once in a while we are able to see an outgoing side of her. Hannah is a great player that everyone is glad is on our team.

Elizabeth Stoll - Elizabeth is from Marietta High School in Marietta, Ohio and double majors in Biology (Pre-Physical therapy track) and Psychology. When she isn't busy studying and playing basketball, she loves to sew, knit, read a good book, and make sweet gifts for her friends.  The thing she loves about MVNU is the Christian atmosphere and the late nights spent laughing with friends.  The most influential person for her is her mom because she always has good advice for her in her life, her relationship with God, and in basketball. Elizabeth is a player that nobody wants to be defended by. Girls will try and switch lines, cut in line, or go in the back of the line if it means that Elizabeth won't be the one to defend them. She works hard and loves the sport. She has a fun personality and keeps everyone upbeat and loose.

Ashley Jackson - Ashley is from Woodmere Heights, Ohio and attended Orange High School. She is in a relationship with Marshall, who is on the boy's basketball team. She said when she got into the relationship with him she was walking into basketball practice and hit herself in the face with the door!! She loves getting to know a little more about each teammate each day and how we are all close and mash together. Ashley is a hoot to be around and says some of the funniest things ever. She works hard at practice and is getting better each day she walks into the gym.
