Tara Seiter
High School Information: Graduated from River Valley High School in Marion in 1995. Following her junior and senior years, she was selected to the Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference First Team. She was also named an Honorable Mention All-Ohioan following her senior year.
College Honors: In 1995, she was selected as the Mid-Ohio Conference Freshman of the Year and named to the MOC Second Team. She was also selected to the Cedarville College Invitational All-Tournament Team and tabbed the National Christian College Athletic Association National Player of the Week once. In 1996, she was chosen as the MOC Player of the Year and the NCCAA East Region Player of the Year. She was named to the NCCAA All-American Team, the NAIA Great Lakes Region First Team, and five All-Tournament Teams, including receiving most valuable player honors at the Lady Cougars' Wazie Invitational. She was the MOC and NCCAA National Player of the Week three times and the Great Lakes Region Player of the Week once during the season. In 1997, she repeated as the MOC and NCCAA East Region Player of the Year. She was named the MOC Player of the Week four times, the NAIA Great Lakes Region Player of the Week twice, and the NAIA National Player of the Week once. She was also selected as an NCCAA All-American and an NAIA Honorable Mention All-American as well as being an NCCAA and NAIA Academic All-American.
MVNC Records: Set the single-match total blocks record with 16 against Malone College in 1996 and tied it in 1997 against Huntington (IN) College. Set new single-season records for kills (760) and total blocks (265) in 1997, while also becoming the career leader in both categories (1,948 kills and 701 total blocks).
1997 Statistics: Led the Lady Cougars with 265 total blocks and 760 kills. Recorded 53 aces, 63 assists, and 634 digs in 176 games. Led the MOC in kills per game (4.32), and ranked second in attack percentage (.353) and blocks per game (1.51).
