Melissa Gregory

Melissa Gregory is entering her ninth season as the assistant coach of the MVNU women's volleyball program. Over the past eight years, the team has posted an overall record of 325-81 with four conference titles and three runner-up finishes. The Lady Cougars have also advanced to the NAIA Region Tournament and the NCCAA National Tournament in each of the eight seasons that Gregory has served as an assistant.

Gregory was an outside hitter on the MVNU teams that posted a 163-33 record (.832 winning percentage) from 1992-1995. She also went 50-0 at home during her career and helped the Lady Cougars to their first two conference titles in 1994 and 1995.

As a senior, Gregory was named to the NCCAA All-District Team, and she still ranks fourth in career aces (187), fifth in career serve reception percentage (93 percent), and twelfth in career digs (1,138).

Gregory lives in Mount Vernon with her husband, Steve, the MVNU women's basketball coach, and their two children, Taylor and Tyler.
