November 13, at Nyack (NY) College
The Cougars saw their season come to an end as host Nyack scored four goals in the second half of the National Christian College Athletic Association East Region championship match to post a 4-0 victory.  MVNU was out-shot 17-8 in the match.  Goalkeepers Jordan Knight and Jarred Renner posted four and one saves respectively.


October 30, SHAWNEE STATE UNIVERSITY
MVNU rallied from a 1-0 deficit to defeat Shawnee State 2-1 in overtime in American Mideast Conference South Division play to close out the regular season.  Jonathan Hoop scored the game-winning goal with 5:16 left in the first overtime period off an assist from Seth Taylor.  Josh Van Pelt also added a goal earlier in the match as Patrick Young and Adam Pelak each were credited with an assist.  Meanwhile, goalkeeper Jordan Knight posted one save to preserve the win.


October 26, CEDARVILLE UNIVERSITY
The Cougars suffered their third straight American Mideast Conference South Division loss as MVNU fell 1-0 to Cedarville in double overtime.  The visiting Yellow Jackets scored the only goal of the match with 4:19 left in the second 10-minute overtime period.  Goalkeeper Jordan Knight posted three saves for the Cougars, who managed just two shots on goal.


October 23, at Walsh University
MVNU dropped its second straight American Mideast Conference South Division match as the Cougars fell 2-1 at Walsh.  Josh Van Pelt scored the only goal for MVNU in the second half, and the Cougars missed a penalty kick in the final 10 minutes that would have tied the score.  Goalkeeper Marcus Bierbaum stopped four shots in goal including deflecting a penalty kick as he filled in for Jordan Knight, who missed the game due to an injury.


October 19, OHIO DOMINICAN UNIVERSITY
The Cougars suffered their first American Mideast Conference South Division defeat of the season as MVNU fell 2-0 to Ohio Dominican.  The Cougars were out-shot 15-7 in the match as MVNU was shut out for the third time this season.  Goalkeeper Jordan Knight posted five saves to keep the Cougars close.


October 14, SETON HILL (PA) UNIVERSITY
MVNU notched its second straight shutout and sixth of the season overall as the Cougars blanked Seton Hill 3-0 in a non-conference match.  Stephen Reynard and Seth Taylor each had a goal and an assist, while Josh Van Pelt also scored a goal.  Shawn Morrison and Jonathan Hoop were each credited with an assist, and goalkeeper Jordan Knight stopped six shots in goal.


October 12, at Malone College
The Cougars stayed unbeaten in the American Mideast Conference South Division race as MVNU blanked Malone 2-0.  Jonathan Hoop scored a goal and registered an assist, while Stephen Reynard tallied the other goal.  Seth Taylor was also credited with an assist for the second straight match.  Meanwhile, goalkeeper Jordan Knight stopped seven shots as he posted his fifth shutout of the season.


October 9, UNIVERSITY OF RIO GRANDE
MVNU remained unbeaten in American Mideast Conference South Division play as the Cougars battled top-ranked and defending NAIA national champion Rio Grande to a 1-1 draw in double overtime.  Josh Van Pelt gave MVNU an early lead with a goal in the seventh minute off an assist from Seth Taylor.  The visiting Redmen, who are unbeaten in 57 straight matches (54-0-3), equalized with 2:05 left in regulation.  Cougar goalie Jordan Knight came up big for MVNU with eight saves as the Cougars were out-shot 25-3 in the match.  He also assisted on the MVNU goal as Taylor headed his punt on to Van Pelt for the score.


October 2, URBANA UNIVERSITY
The Cougars battled American Mideast Conference South Division-leading Urbana to a 2-2 draw in double overtime after trailing for most of the second half.  Seth Taylor and Jonathan Hoop each scored a goal for MVNU, while Josh Van Pelt and Aaron Caluza each recorded an assist apiece.  Goalkeeper Jordan Knight posted two saves in goal.


September 28, HEIDELBERG COLLEGE
MVNU dropped a 3-0 non-conference decision to Heidelberg.  The Cougars were out-shot 13-4 in the match as they were shut out for the second time this season.  Goalkeeper Jordan Knight stopped one shot, while Marcus Bierbaum also saw action in goal.


September 21, at Tiffin University
The Cougars scored a goal in the 78th minute and then held on through two overtime periods as MVNU tied Tiffin 2-2 in the American Mideast Conference South Division opener for both teams.  Stephen Reynard gave the Cougars an early 1-0 lead on a penalty kick, and Josh Van Pelt knotted the match at 2-2 with 12 minutes left in regulation on a goal off an assist from Brian Souder.  Meanwhile, goalkeeper Jordan Knight posted seven saves to preserve the draw.


September 18, at Moody Bible (IL) Institute
MVNU posted a 5-2 non-conference victory at Moody Bible as everyone on the Cougars' roster saw action in the match.  Jeffery Hinds recorded the first hat trick of his career with three goals, while Seth Taylor and Jonathan Hoop each scored a goal.  Josh Van Pelt added two assists, and Ryan Farkas and Brian Souder each recorded one assist apiece.  Goalkeepers Jordan Knight, Jarred Renner, and Marcus Bierbaum combined to post three saves in goal.


September 17, at Grace (IN) College
The Cougars fell 3-1 at Grace in a non-conference match.  Josh Van Pelt gave MVNU an early 1-0 lead in the match as he scored a goal off an assist from Jeffery Hinds.  Meanwhile, goalkeeper Jordan Knight posted six saves.  The Cougars had two shots hit the post in the second half.


September 14, at Kenyon College
MVNU won the non-conference battle between the two Knox County colleges as the Cougars blanked Kenyon 2-0 behind two goals by Josh Van Pelt.  Adam Pelak, Jonathan Hoop, and Brian Souder also each registered an assist.  Meanwhile, goalkeeper Jordan Knight posted six saves as he notched his fourth shutout of the year.  Stephen Reynard also cleared one shot off the goal line.


September 8, ASHLAND UNIVERSITY
In a non-conference match played on a soggy field in a steady downpour, the Cougars fell 1-0 to Ashland, an NCAA Division II school.  The visiting Eagles scored the only goal of the match in the 28th minute.  MVNU goalkeeper Jordan Knight stopped seven shots to keep the Cougars in the match, but MVNU was shut out for the first time this season.


September 4, GENEVA (PA) COLLEGE
MVNU fell 5-1 to Geneva in the championship match of the First-Knox Cougar Invitational.  Jeffery Hinds' goal eleven minutes into the second half knotted the score at 1-1, but the Golden Tornadoes scored four times down the stretch to claim the title.  Josh Van Pelt was named the tournament's Most Valuable Offensive Player, and he was just on the All-Tournament Team by Hinds and Jamie Hilen.  The loss snapped MVNU's school-record 17-match unbeaten streak at home as the Cougars had posted a 16-0-1 mark at home since their last home loss on October 15, 2002.


September 3, MONTREAT (NC) COLLEGE
The Cougars blanked Montreat 5-0 in the first round of the First-Knox Cougar Invitational as MVNU improved to 4-0-0 to start the season for the first time in the program's 26-year history.  Josh Van Pelt scored two goals and added two assists, while Jeffery Hinds added one goal and one assist.  Jonathan Hoop and Adam Pelak also scored one goal apiece, and Stephen Reynard and Ryan Farkas were each credited with an assist.  Meanwhile, goalie Jordan Knight stopped four shots in posting his third shutout of the year.


August 31, DAEMEN (NY) COLLEGE
MVNU posted a 2-0 shutout in the team's 2004 home opener against Daemen as the Cougars opened the season with three straight wins for the first time the 2000 season.  Jeffery Hinds and Jonathan Hoop each scored for MVNU, while Stephen Reynard, Josh Van Pelt, Brian Souder, and Daniel Seiffert were each credited with an assist.  Goalkeeper Jordan Knight also posted his second shutout of the season in goal.


August 28, at Bryan (TN) College
The Cougars remained unbeaten as MVNU rallied from an early 1-0 deficit for a 3-1 non-conference win at Bryan.  Jeffery Hinds and Josh Van Pelt each had one goal and one assist, while Jonathan Hoop also scored a goal.  Brian Souder and Patrick Young were also each credited with one assist.  Meanwhile, goalkeeper Jordan Knight posted four saves in goal.


August 27, at Asbury (KY) College
MVNU successfully opened the 2004 season with a 6-0 non-conference victory at Asbury.  Josh Van Pelt registered his first collegiate hat trick with three goals, while Jeffery Hinds added one goal and three assists.  Jonathan Hoop finished with one goal and two assists, and Ryan Farkas scored the team's other goal in his collegiate debut.  Meanwhile, Adam Pelak and Aaron Caluza contributed one and two assists respectively.  Defensively, Jordan Knight registered five saves to post the shutout in goal.
