November 9, at University of Rio Grande
The fifth-seeded Cougars fell in the NAIA Region IX Tournament semifinals as MVNC dropped a 3-1 decision to top-seeded Rio Grande, ranked #4 in the NAIA national poll. Nate Sommers scored the team's only goal in the first half to knot the score at 1-1 off an assist from Matt Packard. Goalkeeper Trevor Knowles posted two saves in goal. The loss ended the Cougars' season with a 14-6-2 overall record.

November 3, at Cedarville University
MVNC, the fifth-seed, avenged a regular-season loss to Cedarville as the Cougars blanked the fourth-seeded Yellow Jackets 2-0 in the American Mideast Conference Tournament quartifinals. Preston Elifritz and Jeremy Hilen each scored one goal, while Casey Swanson and Nels Radtke recorded one assist apiece. Goalkeeper Trevor Knowles posted three saves as he registered his fourth shutout and the team's tenth of the year.

October 30, at Ohio Dominican College
The Cougars closed out the regular season with an impressive 5-2 win at Ohio Dominican in an American Mideast Conference match. Preston Elifritz led the way with two goals, while Nate Sommers added one goal and one assist. Matt Packard and Dave Barry also scored one goal apiece, and Jeremy Hilen registered two assists. Nels Radtke and Casey Swanson were also credited with one assist each. Meanwhile, Trevor Knowles and Ryan Pearce posted two and one save in goal respectively.

October 27, at Cedarville University
MVNC came up just short in its bid to earn a home NAIA playoff match as the Cougars dropped a hard-fought 1-0 decision at Cedarville in American Mideast Conference play as the team's five-match winning streak came to an end. MVNC was shut out for only the third time all season, and the Yellow Jackets scored the game-winning goal in the 78th minute. Trevor Knowles had three saves in goal for the Cougars.

October 23, at Shawnee State University
The Cougars made it five wins in a row as MVNC rallied from an early 1-0 deficit to defeat Shawnee State 5-1 in American Mideast Conference action. Preston Elifritz led the way with one goal and one assist, while T.J. Myers, Matt Packard, Nate Sommers, and Jake Drost all added one goal apiece. Chris LeVeck registered two assists, and Jeremy Hilen and Acori Ross also were credited with one assist each. Goalkeepers Trevor Knowles and Ryan Pearce combined to stop one shot in the win.

October 19, NOTRE DAME COLLEGE
MVNC won its fourth straight match with a 3-1 American Mideast Conference victory over Notre Dame. Preston Elifritz led the way with two goals, while T.J. Myers scored the team's other goal. Brian Souder, Chris LeVeck, and Jeremy Hilen each registered an assist for the Cougars. Meanwhile, goalkeeper Trevor Knowles stopped two shots to secure the win. The match was the final regular-season home match for seniors Preston Elifritz, Nels Radtke, and Jeremy Stabile.

October 16, MALONE COLLEGE
The Cougars recorded their third shutout in a row as MVNC downed Malone 5-0 in an American Mideast Conference match. Preston Elifritz led the way with two goals and an assist, while T.J. Myers added two goals. Matt Packard finished with one goal and one assist, and Jeremy Hilen, Ricky Warren, Brian Souder, and Jeremy Stabile all registered one assist apiece. Goalkeeper Trevor Knowles recorded four saves as the team posted its ninth shutout of the year.

October 13, SAINT VINCENT (PA) COLLEGE
MVNC posted its second straight shutout as the Cougars blanked Saint Vincent 5-0 in American Mideast Conference action. Jeremy Stabile scored two goals, while Chris LeVeck and Nate Sommers each added a goal and an assist. Marc Stasiowski also scored one goal, and Nels Radtke, Clint Thress, Jeremy Hilen, and Casey Swanson registered one assist apiece. Trevor Knowles and Ryan Pearce combined on the team's eighth shutout in goal.

October 12, POINT PARK (PA) COLLEGE
The Cougars snapped their two-match losing streak by blanking Point Park 6-0 in an American Mideast Conference match. Nate Sommers and Chris LeVeck each scored two goals for MVNC, while Preston Elifritz added a goal and two assists. Ricky Warren also scored a goal, and Jeremy Stabile, Clint Thress, and Jake Drost registered one assist apiece. Trevor Knowles and Ryan Pearce combined on the team's seventh shutout of the year.

October 9, TIFFIN UNIVERSITY
MVNC dropped a hard-fought 1-0 decision to Tiffin in American Mideast Conference action. The Dragons scored the lone goal of the match in the seventh minute. MVNC outshot Tiffin 15-9 as the Cougars controlled the action for most of the match but just could not find the back of the net. Goalkeeper Trevor Knowles posted four saves to keep MVNC close.

October 6, UNIVERSITY OF RIO GRANDE
The Cougars put up a good fight but fell 2-0 to Rio Grande, ranked fourth in the latest NAIA national poll, in an American Mideast Conference match. Goalkeeper Trevor Knowles posted three saves to keep MVNC close as the Cougars were outshot 14-8 by the conference-leading Redmen.

October 2, at Walsh University
MVNC rallied from a two-goal first-half deficit to tie Walsh 2-2 in double overtime in American Mideast Conference action. Matt Packard scored the team's first goal in the 61st minute, while Nate Sommers knotted the match at 2-2 in the 77th minute off an assist from Packard. Goalkeeper Trevor Knowles posted five saves to keep the Cavaliers at bay.

September 29, DAEMEN (NY) COLLEGE
The Cougars won their third straight match as MVNC blanked Daemen 8-0 in an American Mideast Conference match. Nate Sommers recorded his first career hat trick with three goals and an assist, while Preston Elifritz finished with two goals and two assists. Matt Packard added one goal and one assist, and Acori Ross and Clint Thress scored one goal apiece. T.J. Myers registered two assists, and Chris LeVeck contributed one assist. Meanwhile, goalkeepers Trevor Knowles and Ryan Pearce combined on the the team's sixth shutout with Knowles recording two saves.

September 25, at Wilberforce University
MVNC scored a season-high 13 goals as the Cougars blanked Wilberforce 13-0 in American Mideast Conference action. Preston Elifritz, Jake Drost, and Acori Ross each recorded two goals and an assist, while Matt Packard added two goals. Brian Souder, Nate Sommers, and Jamie Hilen finished with one goal and one assist apiece, and Jeremy Stabile registered two assists. Dave Barry and Chris LeVeck contributed one goal each, while T.J. Myers handed out one assist. Trevor Knowles and Ryan Pearce combined on the team's fifth shutout of the year.

September 22, at Roberts Wesleyan (NY) College
The Cougars returned to their winning ways with a 1-0 overtime upset victory over Roberts Wesleyan, ranked sixth in the NAIA, in American Mideast Conference action. Preston Elifritz scored the game-winning goal in the 104th minute as Nels Radtke and Marc Stasiowski assisted on the play. Meanwhile, goalkeeper Trevor Knowles posted two saves in recording the team's fourth shutout of the year.

September 21, at Houghton (NY) College
MVNC had its three-match winning streak snapped as the Cougars fell 2-1 at Houghton in American Mideast Conference play. After trailing 2-0 at the half, Brian Souder brought MVNC to within 2-1 with a goal in the 60th minute. Goalkeeper Trevor Knowles posted five saves to keep the Cougars close.

September 15, GENEVA (PA) COLLEGE
The Cougars extended their winning streak to three straight with a 7-0 win over Geneva in American Mideast Conference action. Nate Sommers and Clint Thress each scored two goals, while T.J. Myers, Dave Barry, and Acori Ross also added one goal apiece. Nels Radtke and Jake Drost each registered two assists, and Chris LeVeck and Matt Packard added one assist apiece. Trevor Knowles and Ryan Pearce combined for five saves in posting the team's third shutout of the year.

September 11, at Urbana University
MVNC opened up American Mideast Conference play with a 5-3 victory at Urbana as the Cougars scored three unanswered goals to close out the match. T.J. Myers led the way with two goals and an assist, while Preston Elifritz also scored two goals. Clint Thress added a goal, and Brian Souder registered two assists. Jeremy Hilen and Jake Drost also finished with one assist apiece, while Trevor Knowles posted two saves in goal.

September 8, TREVECCA NAZARENE (TN) UNIVERSITY
The Cougars won a share of the First-Knox Cougar Invitaitonal title as MVNC downed Trevecca Nazarene 11-0. Preston Elifritz, the tournament's Most Valuable Player, led the way with two goals and two assists, while Dave Barry and Jake Drost each added two goals. Brian Souder, Matt Packard, Ricky Warren, Clint Thress, and Nate Sommers scored one goal apiece, while Souder, Casey Swanson, and Chris LeVeck registered two assists each. Thress, Packard, Warren, Sommers, Jeremy Stabile, and Jeremy Hilen also contributed one assist apiece. Swanson, Hilen, Souder, and Nels Radtke joined Elifritz on the All-Tournament Team.

September 6, OLIVET NAZARENE (IL) UNIVERSITY
MVNC battled back from a first-half deficit for a 1-1 tie in double overtime against Olivet Nazarene in the first round of the First-Knox Cougar Invitational. Preston Elifritz scored the equalizer for MVNC in the 73rd minute off an assist from Clint Thress. Meanwhile, Trevor Knowles posted four saves in goal for the Cougars. MVNC outshot the Tigers 20-10 including an 8-5 edge in shots on goal.

September 1, vs. Piedmont (GA) College
The Cougars posted their first win of the 2001 season with a 1-0 shutout over Piedmont in a non-conference match played at Life (GA) University. Preston Elifritz scored the lone goal of the match in the 10th minute off an assist from Nate Sommers. Goalkeeper Trevor Knowles posted the shutout as he registered five saves.

August 31, at Life (GA) University
MVNC dropped a hard-fought 3-1 non-conference match at Life, ranked #18 in the NAIA preseason poll, as the Cougars opened up the 2001 season. Brian Souder scored MVNC's only goal in the 82nd minute off an assist from Nate Sommers. Meanwhile, Trevor Knowles posted 12 saves in goal to keep the Cougars close.
