May 2, at Urbana University
MVNU saw its season end one game shy of the playoffs as the Lady
Cougars fell 6-5 at Urbana in the second game of an American
Mideast Conference South Division twinbill as the Blue Knights
scored four runs in the bottom of the seventh inning. Laura
Kot and Brittany Stroop each had three hits, while Jackie Shively,
Stephanie Johnson, and Melody Blimline added two hits
apiece. Kristin Eyerman (8-8) suffered the loss as she
allowed seven hits, four walks, and six runs over six-plus innings
with four strikeouts. Heather Clark faced one batter and

MVNU matched its longest winning streak of the year at four games
as the Lady Cougars downed Saint Vincent 4-1 in the second game of
a non-conference twinbill. Kristin Eyerman (8-7) earned the
win as she gave up just three hits, one walk, and one run over
seven innings with six strikeouts. Offensively, Stephanie
Johnson led the way by going 3-for-3 with a home run and two
RBI. Laura Kot and Shannon Rachel each added two hits.

The Lady Cougars won their third straight game as MVNU cruised
past Saint Vincent 7-1 in the first game of a non-conference
doubleheader. Stephanie Johnson led the offense by going
2-for-4 with a double, a home run, three RBI, and two runs
scored. Jackie Shively and Shara Dyer also added two hits
apiece. Meanwhile, Heather Clark (8-8) picked up the win on

MVNU broke open a close game with seven runs in the bottom of the

while Stephanie Johnson was 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs

The Lady Cougars held on for a 4-3 victory over Malone in the

RBI. On the mound, Heather Clark (7-8) picked up the win as

MVNU fell 4-2 at Rio Grande in the second game of an American
Mideast Conference South Division twinbill. The Lady Cougars
managed just four hits in the game with Stephanie Johnson and
Brittany Stroop each recording an RBI double. Jackie Shively
also stole one base to set a new school record with 41 career
steals. On the mound, Heather Clark (6-8) took the loss as
she allowed three hits, two walks, and two runs over 2 2/3 innings

MVNU pulled out a 3-1 victory over Seton Hill in the second game
of a non-conference twinbill. Kristin Eyerman (6-7) earned
the win on the mound as she allowed just four hits, one walk, and
one earned run over seven innings with five strikeouts. The
Lady Cougars used three hits, a walk, and a hit batsman to plate
two runs in the bottom of the fourth inning, and Claudia Claxon
was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to round out the scoring

The Lady Cougars pounded out 15 hits on their way to a 9-1 win
over Seton Hill in the first game of a non-conference
doubleheader. Heather Clark (5-7) allowed just one hit - a
one-out triple in the top of the fourth inning - as she walked two
and allowed one run over five innings with five strikeouts to
record the victory. Offensively, Brittany Stroop was 3-for-3
with five RBI, while Laura Kot, Jackie Shively, Stephanie Johnson,

April 16, at Cedarville University
MVNU dropped a 2-1 decision at Cedarville in the second game of an
American Mideast Conference South Division twinbill. The
Lady Cougars stranded 10 base runners in the game including
loading the bases with no outs in the top of the seventh inning
and not scoring. Heather Clark (4-7) was the hard-luck loser
as she allowed just six hits, one walk, and two unearned runs over
six innings with two strikeouts. Laura Kot paced the offense
by going 3-for-4, while Stephanie Johnson and Jackie Shively each

The Lady Cougars built a 3-2 lead only to see Cedarville scored
three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning for a 5-3 victory in

allowed 10 hits and five runs over six innings with one
strikeout. Offensively, Stephanie Johnson, Megan Kunkle, and

MVNU held on for a 5-4 victory at county rival Kenyon in the
second game of a non-conference twinbill. Laura Kot, Jackie
Shively, Brittany Stroop, and Shara Dyer each had two hits as the
Lady Cougars overcame six errors. Kristin Eyerman (5-6)
picked up the win in relief as she allowed just three hits, one
walk, and one unearned run over five innings with three

The Lady Cougars rallied from an early 2-0 deficit and cruised to
a 6-2 victory at county rival Kenyon in the first game of a
non-conference doubleheader. Heather Clark (4-6) earned the
win as she scattered seven hits and two unearned runs over seven
innings with three strikeouts. Meanwhile, Jackie Shively
paced the offense by going 3-for-3 with three runs scored.

MVNU dropped a 6-4 decision to Shawnee State in the second game of
an American Mideast Conference South Division twinbill. The
Lady Bears scored four runs in the top of the fourth inning to
take the lead for good. Kristin Eyerman (4-6) suffered the
loss as she allowed nine hits, two walks, and six runs with five
strikeouts. Offensively, Stephanie Johnson led the Lady
Cougars with three hits, while Laura Kot, Brittany Stroop, and

April 12, SHAWNEE STATE UNIVERSITY
The Lady Cougars collected just one hit as MVNU was shut out 1-0
by Shawnee State in the first game of an American Mideast
Conference South Division doubleheader. Brittany Stroop's
one-out single in the bottom of the seventh inning kept MVNU from
being no-hit in the game. Heather Clark (3-6) took the
hard-luck loss as she allowed just four hits, two walks, and one

MVNU downed Walsh 6-2 in the second game of an American Mideast
Conference South Division twinbill as the Lady Cougars posted
their first sweep of the Lady Cavaliers since the 1994
season. Kristin Eyerman (4-5) earned the win as she allowed
just six hits and two runs over seven innings with four
strikeouts. Jennifer Meade led the offense by going 2-for-4

the second game of a non-conference twinbill. The Lady
Cougars rallied from a 6-3 deficit with two outs in the bottom of
the seventh inning to force extra innings. Laura Kot tied
the school records for hits and at bats in a game as she went
5-for-7, while Stephanie Johnson and Jackie Shively added three
hits apiece. Brittany Stroop and Shara Dyer also finished
with two hits each. Kristin Eyerman (3-5) suffered the tough
loss as she worked all 12 innings (a school record) and allowed 12 hits and seven

The Lady Cougars fell 8-3 to Tiffin in the first game of a
non-conference doubleheader. Heather Clark (2-5) took the
loss as she allowed seven hits, three walks, and seven runs (only

Kristin Eyerman worked the final 1 1/3 innings and gave up two
hits and one run with three strikeouts. Offensively,

MVNU dropped its second straight game as the Lady Cougars fell 5-1
to Ohio Dominican, ranked 23rd in the latest NAIA national poll,
in the second game of an American Mideast Conference South
Division twinbill. Kristin Eyerman (3-4) suffered the loss
as she allowed 11 hits and five runs over seven innings with three
strikeouts. Offensively, Laura Kot and Brittany Stroop each

April 5, OHIO DOMINICAN UNIVERSITY
The Lady Cougars fell 5-0 in nine innings to Ohio Dominican,
ranked 23rd in the latest NAIA national poll, in the first game of
an American Mideast Conference South Division doubleheader.
MVNU managed just two singles by Stephanie Johnson in the game as
the Lady Cougars struck out 16 times in the game. Four hits
and two MVNU errors contributed to four of the five runs being
unearned in the ninth inning for Ohio Dominican. Heather
Clark (2-4) scattered eight hits, one walk, and five runs (only
one earned) over nine innings with three strikeouts in taking the

MVNU extended its winning streak to four straight as the Lady
Cougars posted their second straight shutout with an 8-0 win over
Geneva in the second game of a non-conference twinbill.
Kristin Eyerman (3-3) surrendered just a third-inning bunt single
as she tossed her second shutout of the year with three strikeouts
in five innings. Offensively, Stephanie Johnson was 3-for-3
with a pair of doubles, three runs scored, and three RBI.
Jackie Shively and Shannon Rachel also added two hits apiece.

The Lady Cougars won their third consecutive game as MVNU blanked

MVNU dropped its fourth straight game as the Lady Cougars fell 4-1
to Augsburg at the Orlando Rebel Games in Kissimmee, Florida, to
close out the team's annual spring trip. Shannon Rachel

runs over seven innings with two strikeouts as MVNU committed six

MVNU scored a run in the top of the seventh inning and held on for a 1-0 victory over Eastern

plated Shannon Rachel for the only run of the game. Then, in the bottom of the seventh inning, the
Lady Cougars escaped a bases-loaded situation with two outs when Laura Kot threw the final batter out
from rightfield on an apparent game-tying hit. Rachel (1-0) earned the win in her first start of the year
as she allowed just three hits and two walks over 6 2/3 innings with one strikeout.
