Lady Cougar Softball Blog

Throughout the course of the 2012 season, MVNU
senior outfielder MacKenzie Shaw will write a weekly blog about what is
happening with the softball team. "One
Final Farewell" (posted on May 2, 2012)
Hello again, Cougar
Nation!
This week wrapped up the
final week of Lady Cougar softball. We had a
busy week this week playing six games. On
Tuesday, we played Rio Grande and lost both
games. On Wednesday, we had two makeup games
against Huntington University. We fell in
both games to Huntington. On Friday, we took
the field for our last time against Marian.
We played well the first game, but fell
short. The second game we played awesome and
won! We were able to end our season on a win
beating Marian 4-2!
This season has
been full of ups and down. If you were to
look at our record, you would probably say
we didn't have a good season. But if you
talk to any girl on our team, I am sure she
would tell you that this season was
wonderful. We made new friends, built
stronger relationships, watched our
teammates grow, and laughed…. a lot!
Writing this final blog is a bittersweet
moment for me. In three weeks, I will be
graduating. I am no longer a softball player
and soon will be a college graduate! Being a
Lady Cougar softball player has changed my
life. It has helped shape me into the person
I am today! God blessed our team this year
with 17 unique personalities that will never
be forgotten! We have made memories that
will last a lifetime!

Thank you for your
support throughout this season and the last
four years! Remember, don't cry because it's
over, smile because it happened!
Go
Cougars and God bless!
