Fall Recaps
October 14, at NCCAA National
Tournament
The Cougars fired a team-total of 312 to finish third out of 14 teams at
the 2002 National Christian College Athletic Association National
Tournament. The event, which was shortened to just one day due to
heavy rains, was held at Cross Creek Plantation in Seneca, South
Carolina. The Master's (CA) College won the title with a 298, while
North Greenville (SC) College was second at 308. Nathanael Petry and
Scott Snyder paced MVNU as they each fired a 77. Brian Bumgarner and
David Yingst each shot a 79, while Chad Gress rounded out the scoring with
an 80. Team

October 4-5, at Urbana University Fall Invitational
MVNU fired a two-day team-total of 598 to beat out Cornerstone (MI) (603)
and win the six-team Urbana Fall Invitational that was held at the
Woodland Golf Club. Brian Bumgarner earned medalist honors for the
second straight tournament as he shot a three-over-par 145 to edge out
teammate Scott Snyder, who finished tied for second at 148. Chad
Gress shot a 150 to join Bumgarner and Snyder on the All-Tournament Team,
while David Yingst carded a 155. Nathanael Petry (158) and Raynard
Martin (165) rounded out the scoring for the team. Meanwhile,
Brandon Kenney (160), Ben Sharrock (168), Bryce Arndt (172), and Chris
Ebersole (182) all participated as at-large players. Team

September 20-21, at Malone
College Fall Invitational
The Cougars fired a two-day team-total of 599 to edge out Missouri
Baptist College (601) and win the 10-team Malone Fall Invitational that
was held at the Tannenhauf Golf Course. Brian Bumgarner fired a
one-under-par 143 to earn medalist honors. Brandon Kenney shot a
151, while Nathanael Petry finished with a 152. Chad Gress carded a
153, and Scott Snyder rounded out the scoring with a 159. David
Yingst, who participated as an at-large player, posted a 157. Team

September 7, at Indiana Wesleyan University
Invitational
MVNU finished as the runner-up out of eight teams at the Indiana Wesleyan
Invitational. The Cougars fired a team-total of 301 to finish three
shots behind the host Wildcats at the Meshingomesia Country Club.
Chad Gress was the individual runner-up with an even-par 72 to lead MVNU.
Nathanael Petry and Scott Snyder tied for third place as they each shot a
74, while Brian
Bumgarner carded an 81. Raynard Martin rounded out the scoring with
an 84. Team
