The Cougars finished second out of 11 teams in the 54-hole American Mideast Conference/NAIA Region IX Tournament at Apple Valley Golf Course as MVNC shot a 926 to finish behind Walsh (917). Nathanael Petry was the individual runner-up with a 225, while Brian Bumgarner shot a 231 as both players were named to the All-AMC Team. Chad Gress carded a 233, and Scott Snyder fired a 237. April 29, at Otterbein College Invitational
MVNC finished fifth out of eight teams by firing a team-total of 630 at the 36-hole Otterbein College Invitational. Olivet (MI) College won the event, which was played at the Little Turtle Country Club, with a 618. Todd Mazur finished tied for fourth individually with a 153, while Nathanael Petry was tied for eighth with a 157. Brian Bumgarner carded a 159, and Chad Gress shot a 161. April 22-23, at Cedarville University Invitational
The Cougars finished third out of five teams at the Cedarville University Invitational as MVNC fired a two-day total of 616 at the Beavercreek Golf Club and the Country Club of the North. Urbana University and Shawnee State University posted identical scores of 600 with Urbana being declared the winner on the lower fifth man score. Individually, Chad Gress tied for the lead with a 148, but lost on the first playoff hole. Todd Mazur shot a 151, and Scott Snyder and Joel Meeks carded a 158 and a 159 respectively. April 19-20, MOUNT VERNON NAZARENE COLLEGE INVITATIONAL
MVNC finished fourth out of six teams at its own tournament as the Cougars fired a two-day total of 615 at the Apple Valley Golf Course. Malone College, ranked 16th in the NAIA, won the event with a 600, while Urbana was a close second at 601. Todd Mazur led MVNC with a 148, while Joel Meeks fired a 155. Brian Bumgarner and Chad Gress carded a 157 and a 158 respectively, and Nathanael Petry rounded out the scoring with a 163. The MVNC "B" Team finished with a 656 total as Scott Snyder led the way with a 151. Tim Hirschy and David Yingst each shot a 166, while Raynard Martin and Brandon Kenney each finished with a 175. The Cougars finished fourth out of nine teams at the Walsh University Invitational as MVNC fired a two-day total of 620 at the Prestwick and Raintree Country Club courses. The host Cavaliers won their own tournament with a 600, while Malone College was second at 604. Brian Bumgarner led the Cougars with a 151, while Joel Meeks fired a 155 that included an even-par 72 the second day. Chad Gress shot 157, and Nathanael Petry carded a 159. After leading the field on the first day, MVNC finished second out of eight teams at the Urbana University Invitational. The Cougars fired a team-total of 607 to finish ten strokes behind the host Blue Knights (597). Chad Gress earned All-Tournament honors as he led MVNC with a 148 to finish fourth. April 4-5, at Southeastern Kentucky Intercollegiate Invitational
The Cougars finished tied for seventh out of 22 teams at the Southeastern Kentucky Intercollegiate Invitational as MVNC fired a two-day total of 615 to finish behind five NAIA nationally-ranked teams. Johnson & Wales (FL) University, ranked sixth, easily out-distanced the field with a two-day total of 581, while North Greenville (SC) College, ranked eighth, was second at 597. The MVNC "B" Team finished third out of six teams at the Urbana University Earlybird Invitational as the Cougars shot a team-total of 314 to finish behind Urbana (299) and Capital University (307). Joel Meeks claimed medalist honors with an even-par 72, while David Yingst fired a 76. Raynard Martin and Brandon Kenney each shot an 83, while Tim Hirschy carded an 84. MVNC won the eight-team Shawnee State Invitational as the Cougars fired a tournament-record 294 to win by five strokes over Shawnee State (299). Chad Gress beat teammate Brian Bumgarner on the third playoff hole to earn medalist honors for the fifth time in his collegiate career as both players finished with an even-par 72. The Cougars finished seventh out of 10 teams at the two-day Malone Invitational as MVNC fired a team-total of 624 to finish 20 strokes behind champion Indiana Wesleyan University, ranked #22 in the NAIA poll. Brian Bumgarner led the Cougars with a 151, while Chad Gress finished with a 155. Todd Mazur shot a 157, Nathanael Petry carded a 162, and Tim Hirschy posted a 163. October 16-17, at National Christian College Athletic Association National Tournament
The Cougars finished seventh out of 14 teams at the NCCAA National Tournament in Seneca, South Carolina, as MVNC fired a two-day total of 641. Gardner-Webb (NC) University won its first national title with a 612 to finish 13 strokes ahead of defending champion Malone College (625). Chad Gress, Todd Mazur, and Nathanael Petry each carded a 160 to tie for 15th place individually, while Tim Hirschy was 20th with a 161. Brian Bumgarner rounded out the scoring with a 170.
