2000 Fall Match-by-Match Recaps

October 20-21, at Powerade Fall Collegiate Classic
MVNC used an incredible second day to finish third out of 13 teams at the Powerade Fall Collegiate Classic held at the River Greens Golf Course. After posting a team-total of 590 over the first 27 holes, the Cougars shot a school-record 537 on the second day to finish with a 52-hole total of 1127 - 11 strokes behind defending NAIA national champion Malone College (1116) and one stroke behind the University of Charleston (1126). Caine Bricker claimed medalist honors with a two-under-par 214. Todd Mazur and Chad Gress each fired a 227, while Nathanael Petry was right behind them at 228. October 6-7, at Urbana University Fall Invitational
The Cougars finished third out of nine teams but were only two shots off the lead at the Urbana Fall Invitational held at Woodlands Golf Club and Indian Springs Golf Course. MVNC shot a two-day 661 to finish behind Shawnee State University (659) and host Urbana (660). Chad Gress finished one stroke off the individual lead as he shot a 156. Todd Mazur fired a 169, while Nathanael Petry and Tim Hirschy each carded a 173. Kyle McColly rounded out the scoring with a 176. Brandon Kenney also participated as an at-large individual and posted a 171. Team Results

October 3-4, at National Christian College Athletic Association National Tournament
MVNC finished second out of 15 teams at the NCCAA National Tournament as the Cougars compiled a two-day total of 630 to finish behind defending national champion and host Malone College, which posted a team-total of 607. Matt Durst led MVNC with a 154, while Caine Bricker was next with a 156. Chad Gress and Brian Bumgarner carded a 160 and a 168 respectively, and Sam McGraw rounded out the scoring with a 169. September 29-30, at Malone College Fall Invitational
The Cougars finished third out of 15 teams at Malone Fall Invitational held at the Tannenhauf Golf Course. North Greenville (SC) College, an NAIA top 10 team, won the tournament with a 605, while defending NAIA national champion Malone was second with a 606. MVNC fired a team-total of 613. Individually, Chad Gress earned medalist honors after a one-hole playoff as he shot a 148. Brian Bumgarner carded a 152, Caine Bricker fired a 153, and Nathanael Petry finished with a 160. September 11-12, at Glenville State (WV) College Autumn Classic
MVNC finished seventh out of 19 teams at the Glenville State Autumn Classic held at the Greenhills and Riverside Country Clubs. The Cougars posted a two-day total of 610 to finish 11 strokes behind the tournament's winner, Queens (NY) College. Individually, Matt Durst was named to the All-Tournament Team after finishing fifth with a 147. Caine Bricker fired a 152 and Chad Gress shot a 154.
