Last Friday, the whole team left at 7:30
in the morning to head on our nice six-hour
drive to Michigan. The team met for
breakfast before we left, which was actually
a lot of fun for us. When we started to
leave, we realized that the girls van was
smaller than we normally had. Luckily,
because there are more girls than guys, we
forced them to switch vans with us. We were
finally comfortable for our ride.
We stopped somewhere in Michigan to eat
lunch. It was raining and gross out, but we
found this little shelter at a park to eat
the food that they packed us. It was
actually fun, even though we were all cold.
We went to the park later to run the course.
After we got to the hotel and were ready,
we headed to Olive Garden. That is probably
one of our favorite places! We have some
crazy conversations when you get both the
girls and the guy’s teams together.
Saturday was race day. Guys ran first,
followed by us girls. We all worked so hard,
but it was a tough race. That was only
because it was cold and rainy. There were
some parts of the course that were really
muddy and hard to run on. When the race
starts, we normally have about a minute to
prepare, but it was different here. A man
just ran into the middle and screamed READY
and blew this horn. I was very surprised
that we were starting that soon.

The coolest thing is how awesome our
parents are. Some of them traveled so far to
see us and that is amazing!
The ride back wasn’t too bad. It just
took forever. After we took a nice
three-hour nap, the girls just got to
talking. We also listened to some
interesting music. I just hope that we do
not have to listen to any more Taylor Swift
of Miley Cyrus. I might be the only person
who is not a fan.
Our next race isn’t until November 7th at
Cedarville. This is one of the most
important races for us so be praying for us!
