We had a race at Wilmington this past
weekend. It started out a little rough
because Jessica Bryant was not able to run
with us. Despite the fact that she was not
able to participate, we all ran to the best
of our abilities.
The weather started out to be decent, but
later got colder and colder. The whole team
did not take off our warm-ups until we got
to the start line. We were waiting for about
twenty minutes because of technical
difficulties in just our uniforms, which are
not very warm. Normally that would be okay,
but all the runners became so cold!
We could not hear what the starter was
telling us, but all of a sudden everyone
started running. Because I was caught
off-guard, I literally thought that the race
was starting. Luckily, he was just telling
us to do more stride-outs to stay warm.
Other teams that were beside us started
running as fast as they could also. Once we
realized what happened, we all started to
laugh. We were able to meet people from
another team this way, which was nice. It
kept our attention away from the cold.
The course was a faster one for us. Many
of us set new PR’s and are excited to see
what happens next week in Michigan. By the
end of our race, we were all excited that it
was finally midterm break. Most people went
home after the race, but four of us girls
rode home in the van. The four of us were
able to get a whole seat to ourselves. We
all slept a majority of the time, which is
so amazing after running 3.1 miles. I had an
amazing heart to heart with some girls on
the team on the way back, which made us grow
in our relationship so much!

And the best part…CHIPOTLE! A majority of
the girls and the guy’s team went there. I
believe that only two people did not, and
both of those members have never been there
before! Anthony Lee and Hannah Fertig have
no clue what they are missing!
We leave for Michigan this Friday at 7:30
in the morning and will not get back until
very late on Saturday. I love weekends like
this, though, because we have some of the
best memories in the hotel! I know that this
course will bring many new PR’s for the
runners!
