Our race this week was different at
Otterbein. The extra thousand meters were
not as bad as we all thought. Right before
the race, I had a negative feeling about it,
but it quickly went away after the race
began.
We left early Saturday. It was so cold
when we got there! It did not help that it
was also raining. I was just happy that it
was not really hot out. The course that we
ran on had a very difficult start. All the
runners had to squeeze into a ten-foot area
about two hundred meters into the race. You
had to have a good start for the race
because you could easily fall behind. It
would be difficult to pass runners because
of lack of room.
It
was a very supportive race for us girls.
Along the whole course, there were MVNU fans
cheering for us. They kept me going! DeAnna
Hardeman (left) started
laughing at one point when she passed some
of our fans. She always makes our races so
much fun!
Overall, this race was decent. The course
was exciting for the most part, except when
we had to run around soccer fields. There
were not too many fans in that area because
it was so far away from the rest of the
race, so it was difficult at some points. It
had to be around a thousand meters. It was
also hard during that part because we could
see all the runners around us. Even if it
may have been tough,
we all ran our very hardest. I just love
our team!
This Friday, we have a race in Delaware -
the All-Ohio Invitational. This is
personally the most difficult race for me.
It is on a golf course, so the majority of
it is hills (which are not my friends!). I
know we will still work our hardest and be
there for each other. That’s what a good
team does!
