This weekend was our first race at
Cedarville for the season. There are two
more there later in the year. Most of the
drive there was spent with much-needed
sleep. I woke up at one point before we got
to Olive Garden and had no clue where we
were. We might have been lost, but as long
as I eventually had food I was okay with it.
When the girls' van arrived, the guys were
already waiting patiently for us.
There were over twenty people in our
group to eat, so as you can imagine it was
really loud. Other people who were there to
eat probably hated us. DeAnna Hardeman has
by far the loudest laugh ever, but that is
why we love her! Jessica Brant was peer
pressured into trying to fit a whole
meatball into her mouth. It was not a pretty
experience.
It was so much fun when we finally got to
the hotel. In one of the girls' rooms,
Katelyn Felger was watching America's
Funniest Home Videos. While I thought most
people viewed the show as being corny,
Katelyn did not stop laughing for even a
second! It was more entertaining to watch
her than to watch the show. Before we went
to bed, the girls' and the guys' teams got
together and talked about attitude and
people who have affected us. It was really
uplifting to have us all together.

Saturday morning was our race. We walked
most of the course before and then ran part
of it before the race. The whole team was
feeling pretty good! When we were getting
ready to start, we went to the spot that was
assigned to us. To our surprise, the Ohio
State University B team was right beside us.
I thought it was so cool! We all ran amazing
races (it is just amazing that we can
finish!).
Many people got their best times and
everyone was happy with how they did. I
love races because it brings us all
together.
On the way home, we slept most of the
time again (I guess we just do not sleep
enough through the week). We had some more
interesting conversations, but were just
worn out from running 3.1 miles at a fast
pace just a few hours prior.
Our next meet is this Saturday, the 26th,
at Otterbein. The strange thing about this
race is that we run a 6K rather than our
normal 5K. That is because they are in a
different division than we are. While it may
be a struggle, I know that we will all run
our best!
