(4). Josh Estep led the Cougars by
going 4-for-5 with two doubles, two homers,

Ari Yoder also had three hits, and Matt Parks, Eddie Smith, Josh
Estep, Zack Helm, and Ray McFerren all registered two hits
apiece. Meanwhile, Dave Yost (2-0) picked up the win on
the mound as he started and scattered 12 hits, five walks, and
nine runs over six innings with four strikeouts. Jason
Barber came in and retired nine of the 10 batters he faced over
three innings with two strikeouts with the first batter he faced
getting on due to an error as Barber retired the final nine

(0-1) took the loss as he gave up four hits, three walks, and

worked three innings as he scattered five hits and three runs,
while Matt Parks tossed the final two innings and allowed two
hits, three walks, and two runs with one strikeout. Ross
Yoder and Kodi Veale each homered and singled with Yoder driving
in three runs. Parks added a pair of doubles and scored

The Cougars notched their fifth straight win as MVNU held on for
a 10-8 victory over Grand View in the second game of a
doubleheader in Ormond Beach, Florida. Jason Decker (1-1)
picked up the win in his first career start as he scattered
eight hits, two walks, and five runs over five-plus innings with
three strikeouts. Jason Barber gave up three hits and one
run over 2/3 of an inning with one strikeout, and Marc Hadley
worked the final 1.1 innings and allowed two hits, one walk, and
two runs to notch his second save of the season.
Meanwhile, Eddie Smith and Kodi Veale paced the 14-hit attack
with three hits apiece as Smith drove in three runs and Veale
scored three times. Ross Yoder added two hits and four
RBI, and Josh Estep also had two hits including his first home
run of the season.

MVNU cruised to a 10-1 victory over Grand View in the first game
of a doubleheader in Ormond Beach, Florida. Ryan Decker
(3-0) allowed just seven hits, one walk, and one run over seven
innings with six strikeouts as he tossed his second straight
complete game. Offensively, Ross Yoder had a double, a
home run, two runs scored, and four RBI. Zack Helm and
Brandon Turner each added two hits with Helm driving in three
runs and Turner scoring three times. Garret Shivley also
registered a career-high three stolen bases to finish just one
shy of the school's single-game record.

The Cougars pounded out a season-high 18 hits and Levi Curry
tossed a three-hit shutout as MVNU blanked Grand View 13-0 in
action in Ormond Beach, Florida. Curry (2-0) struck out a
career-high 10 batters and issued just one walk over eight
innings to pick up the complete-game win. Meanwhile, Zack
Helm went 4-for-5 with four runs scored and three RBI to pace
the offense. Richey Burgos went 3-for-3 with a home run,
two walks, two RBI, and two runs scored, and Ross Yoder also had
a single, a double, and a triple while scoring three runs.
Matt Parks had a triple and a single in the eighth inning, while
Josh Estep and Eddie Smith also had two hits in the game.

4-for-5, while Richey Burgos added three hits. Ari Yoder
and Josh Estep also finished with two hits apiece as MVNU
registered 14 hits in the game. On the mound, Mike
Laughlin started and worked seven innings and allowed just three
hits, two walks, and three unearned runs with a season-high nine
strikeouts as he retired 16 of the final 17 batters he faced.

MVNU came up just short in a slugfest as five Cougars' errors
accounted for six unearned runs as MVNU fell 11-10 to Mayville
State in action on the team's spring trip to Ormond Beach,
Florida. Kodi Veale led the offense by going 3-for-4,
while Ross Yoder and Eddie Smith each had two hits. Veale,
Ross Yoder, Richey Burgos, and Ari Yoder each hit a solo home
run in the bottom of the fourth inning as the Cougars set a
school record for homers in an inning. On the mound, Levi
Curry started and worked 5.1 innings as he scattered eight hits,
three walks, and nine runs (five earned) with six strikeouts.
Marc Hadley (0-1) suffered the hard-luck loss as he scattered
five hits and two unearned runs over 2.2 innings with two
strikeouts. Jason Decker tossed the final inning and

Brandon Turner recorded the 14th no-hitter in school history as
the Cougars blanked Shawnee State 3-0 in the nightcap of an
American Mideast Conference South Division twinbill.
Turner (1-0) retired the first 17 batters in a row before
issuing a two-out walk in the bottom of the sixth inning.
Then, in the seventh inning, he walked the lead-off batter but
got a double play and a fly out to end the game as he finished
with four strikeouts. Offensively, MVNU collected seven
hits with Garret Shivley's double being the only one for extra
bases.
