"Kilpatrick Named NCCAA National Player of the Week"

   Deanna Kilpatrick, a member of the Mount Vernon Nazarene College women's basketball team, has been selected as the National Christian College Athletic Association Player of the Week for her performance during the week of December 24-30.

   Kilpatrick, a 6-foot-1 junior forward from Warsaw, Ohio, led the Lady Cougars to a 79-60 non-conference victory over the College of Wooster. In that game, Kilpatrick was 7-of-15 from the field and 2-for-4 from three-point range as she totaled 16 points. The former River View High School star also grabbed a career-high 12 rebounds as she posted her third straight double-double.

   Kilpatrick is currently averaging 12.5 points and 6.4 rebounds per game. She has connected on 65-of-146 field goal attempts (44.5 percent) and 24-of-72 three-point tries (33.3 percent). She has also moved into fifth place on MVNC's career three-pointers made list with 105.

   The Lady Cougars are currently 9-4 overall and 3-2 in the American Mideast Conference. MVNC will return to action on Tuesday night when the team will host unbeaten Malone College (10-0, 4-0) in a key conference match-up at 7:00 p.m.
