Amie Bibby, a member of the Mount Vernon Nazarene College women's basketball team, has been selected as the American Mideast Conference Co-Player of the Week for her efforts during the week of December 6-12.
Bibby, a 5-foot-10 senior forward from Mount Vernon, Ohio, scored 13 points and grabbed 14 rebounds as the Lady Cougars posted a 69-58 upset victory over Tiffin University, ranked #23 in the latest NAIA Division II national poll.
In the game, the former Danville High School standout shot 57 percent from the field, made 2-of-3 three-point attempts, and added two blocked shots and two steals. With the two steals, Bibby became the program's career leader in that category with 223 steals to pass the former mark of 222 steals set by former MVNC star Lori Brown from 1990-1994.
The Lady Cougars (6-3, 3-1) will return to action on Tuesday when the team will travel to Ohio State University-Newark for a non-conference contest that is slated to tip off at 7:00 p.m.
