Tara Seiter, a middle hitter on the Mount Vernon Nazarene College women's volleyball team, has been selected as the first-ever American Mideast Conference Volleyball Player of the Week for her efforts during the week of August 31-September 6.
Seiter, a 5-foot-11 senior from Waldo, Ohio, paced the Lady Cougars to their fourth straight Kenyon College Invitational title as MVNC went 6-0 for the week.
The reigning two-time conference Player of the Year averaged 2.78 kills per game with a .398 attack percentage during the week. She also totaled 21 blocks and had a .935 serve accuracy.
During a match against Kenyon College on Saturday, September 5, Seiter recorded her 2,000th career kill. She is the first Lady Cougar to accomplish this feat.
MVNC is currently 9-0 on the season and the Lady Cougars will return to action on Thursday when the team travels to Notre Dame College of Ohio for its inaugural AMC match. (The AMC was formerly known as the Mid-Ohio Conference.)
