Mount Vernon Nazarene College teammates Tara Seiter and Mandy Hendrickx swept the weekly American Mideast Conference Volleyball Player and Setter of the Week awards for the week of November 9-15 after leading the top-seeded Lady Cougars to the 1998 AMC Tournament championship. Both players were also named the NAIA Great Lakes Region Player and Setter of the Week respectively.

Seiter, a 5-foot-11 senior middle hitter from Waldo, Ohio, averaged 5.78 kills and 2.00 blocks per game as MVNC swept all three of its tournament matches in straight games. She posted a .339 attack percentage, 25 digs, and a .971 passing accuracy.

The former River Valley High School star was recently named the conference Player of the Year for the third straight season. Seiter broke her own school record with 280 total blocks this season, and currently ranks second all-time in the NAIA with 981 blocks and 2,664 kills.

Hendrickx, a 5-foot-6 setter from Hudson, Ohio, averaged 8.50 assists in the Lady Cougars three wins while becoming only the third player in school history to reach 3,000 career assists. The former Hudson High School standout also had five aces with a .917 serving percentage.

MVNC is currently 51-5 overall. The Lady Cougars will be the third seed at the NAIA Great Lakes Region Tournament that will begin on Thursday at the University of Michigan-Dearborn.
