Andy Heimbach, a member of the Mount Vernon Nazarene College baseball team, is featured in the May 24th issue of Sports Illustrated in the "Faces in the Crowd" section.
Heimbach, a junior right-handed pitcher from Wheelersburg, Ohio, currently has a 12-2 record this season with a school-record six shutouts. The Sports Illustrated article mentions Heimbach's perfect game against Malone College and also that he now holds the NAIA career shutouts record.
Heimbach becomes the fifth MVNC athlete or coach to be featured in "Faces in the Crowd" over the past six years. Wendy Rader (volleyball player), Paul Swanson (volleyball coach), Travis Gray (baseball player), and Tara Seiter (volleyball player) were the four previous individuals.
